6th House revival - ideas
now for this 5th House Dagoth incarnation, we need to consider a few things.
let us looks at their previous incarnations....
  1. Great House Dagoth
This Great House was in what is now north/northwestern Vvardenfell and was not big, but was very strong, militarily, not in economy. They were somewhat friendlier to the Dwemer and also helped keep back Nordic and Orcish invaders, like the Redoran had. They were morally flexible, had a darker side to them, but led by very capable leaders. They had good warriors, assassins, etc., and were looked down upon by some other Houses, and had a survival of the fittest society.
  2. Dagoth Tython
After Great House Dagoth was crushed by the Tribunal led Great Houses, a certain Indoril adopted youth called Tay discovered his heritage, he was of the House Dagoth. Later on he gathered other 6th House members and made a daring rebellion based close to Barysimayn and Falensarano. His uprising was crushed by Ordinators.
  3. Dagoth Thras of Abernanit
Told of in the story of Abernanit, this Daedra Cultist claimed to be the heir of House Dagoth and gathered many cultists and 6th House members to him. The Buoyant Armigers and Ordinators suffered many casualties trying to crush this uprising bu tthey finally succeeded.
  4. 6th House Cult, Dagoth Ur
This cult centered around the revival of 6th House under Dagoth Ur, however now empowered by the Heart of Lorkhan. Cultists were gradually changed into mutated corprus demigods, or driven mad and turned into monsters. Dagoth Ur gathered his armies of cultists and ash-folk and readied to take Vvardenfell, he was interrupted by the Nerevarine. The Cult basically followed in the footsteps of the Dwemer in that they sought to create a Numidium which was called Akulakhan.
and now... what have we got...?

well we want a 6th House that is similar to the previous as it is only 6 years later... but we also want to give it a slightly new face. We probably want something similar to what 6th House was and mix with the recent Cult...

so perhaps, we look what who are 6th House members right now...
1. we know many 6th House members live in the wilderness similar to Ashlanders, but are simply barbarian Dunmer of the 6th House traveled the ash-wastes, attacking ashlanders and some settlements, and knowin they are 6th House but having no overall leadership, they are probably left over from previous uprisings.
2. we know of the corprus monsters and the sleepers and dreamers, the are either 6th House or "adopted" into the House. They are part of the Sixth House Cult and would be found living in the cave-shrines and old Chimer/Dunmer forts like Falasmaryon or in Kogoruhn, the clanstead.

and what about a third?
what about a large group of young generation of Dunmer, sick of the turmoil in Morrowind and sick of the other Houses' squabbling? What about the thousands of 6th House members all across Morrowind we do or do not know of their heritage? Several hundred of the more foolish or brave would quietly travel to Vvardenfell is search of their peoples and find a ruined House, barely surviving.... perhaps they will help make the new House Dagoth, a mix of the old and the Cult into this new underground House.

I think they will revitalize House Dagoth culture, but I doubt they will reveal themselves to the world as the other Houses hate them, and it is generally thought that they are gone or in inf=significant numbers...

so please, we all need to share ideas...

also, as the Temple Vs. 6th House 2nd MQuest is far off in the future, ther eis plenty of time to rethink it... Big Grin

It'd be cool, if you are a Dunmer, that you find out that your heritage is House Dagoth, and it might make the story more engaging... only problem is, um, being kinda forced into the Sixth House part of the story. Which is a huge problem.

THAT problem has been discussed over and over in the earlier days of mod developement....
and it is a tricky question... the involvement of 6th House is a very hard topic...
infact the Temple and 6th House and all are tough to incorporate in a interactive way realistically

Perhaps it could be determined by a certain action... the main quest starts off by you joining the Temple/Ordinators/whatever and you do some tasks for them, and you get attacked by a House Dagoth assassin at some point... later on, an Ordinator wants to execute a captured House Dagoth member (or maybe YOU'RE told to execute him), and if you intervene (or you refuse completely if you're the executioner), you find out that you are a House Dagoth descendant, and, if we decide that House Dagoth is resorting to necromancy, you find the body of the assassin who attacked you earlier and resurrect him... if he dies (well, I suppose you should be able to kill the Ordinator if you have second thoughts after what you've done and do the House Dagoth side of the main quest), then your character's past is whatever the hell you want it to be. Though, the Temple side of the main quest should be just as involved as the Dagoth side.

I think it would be cool to see a civil war within house dagoth. 6th house includes ash, corpus beasts, and house dagoth contains rogues and what not and the rogues want to become a great house once again but have to finish off the rest of the 6th house so they can begin their new destiny to become a great house once again have a few villages and what not
Some say im here, Others say im there, but really... I am every where
Beware I am Shadow I am the darkness in the corner waiting for you to take your mind off things for a moment then I strike without hesitation and leave no trail

It would be great if House Dagoth had a "good" side that could be joined or discovered and worked alongside, whose goal was to redeem their House's name from the dark deeds of their past.

remember guys, the fact that each uprising of the Dagoth House was centralized, well led, and resourceful has allowed them to survive... a civil war will end them and be their doom...
also, a "good side" to them would never be appreciated by other Dunmer and other races... they have been labeled evil since the rise of the Tribunal and inmoral since before that... they have been looked down upon ever since their status as a House and you cannot expect three Eras of hatred towards them to lift away...

If we have a centralized, well led and organized uprising, i want twists.

First, Dagoths wont find easy trade, they would have to go underground. Discussing with bandits, and smugglers. But petty theifs wont even go a 100 miles within a Dagoth, let alone a High ranking Dagoth. So i propose we have a huge syndicate, like the thieves guild, only much larger, and cruel. They make trade all over the kingdom of Daggerfall, Hammerfell and Valenwood. Recently this Crime syndicate even migrated to Morrowind, taking advantage of the weakning houses.

They make deals with House Dagoth, and House Dagoth make deal in return. The crime syndicate gives supplies, weapons, armor and armies or slaves. In return, Dagoths give te syndicate more benifits, treasures, artifacts from ruins, money, etc. This trade happen for 3 years in the 6 year period. By the end of the 3rd year, a syndicate member, who is a spy, see what the Dagoth house does with the supplies they got. To the crime syndicates suprise, they see that the slaves and imported live stock is being manupliated and changed into zombies, sleepers, dreamers. Dagoth is slowly reviving a army. The head of the syndicate later on, gets secretly kidnapped, and the Dagoths control his mind.

So now the Crime syndicate's fraction in Vvardenfell is part of the Dagoths. And with the huge crime syndicate in their hands, they can get influence from smaller clans, to start the uprising.

hahaha, sorry, I couldn't help but laugh...
not that it is a bad idea... but did you know that Orvas Dren in TES3, the kingpin of the Cammona Tong, a thug/smuggler criminal syndicate, most powerful gangs in Morrowind, had cut a deal with Dagoth Ur? some sort of secret agreement. Also the Cammona Tong helped to smuggle ash statues and such... obviously they had some connections.... or maybe the Cammona Tong has some 6th House, or maybe they simply cut a deal... but they do have connections

The Ienth (is that how you spell it?) brothers (who were going to assassinate the Duke for Orvas) had an ash statue in one of their chests. ONE (so it probably wasn't there waiting to be smuggled, it was theirs).
