A way to publicize our voice acting
Just had this thought while on MSN with Andy of a way to publicize our voice work while not actually releasing the files. This would be a series of short Youtube-style videos where the PC encounters different races of NPCs who know about events from Morrowind the game. Some possibilities for topics include:

- Fargoth
- The Imperial looking to clear out of Seyda (heck, this one could be him!)
- Andy just suggested M'aiq. Though he is in OB, he's hard to find; I think I've enountered him once in 300+ hours of playing. I like the idea of a "fake M'Aiq" spouting his BS Morrowind style.
- A naked stranded Nord. This might be a good candidate for the nigh-unintelligible Scot accent that IG has suggested.
- She who stranded the Nord. Tongue
- A really lost acolyte of Dagoth Ur. Big Grin

Obviously, I'm going for the broad comedy here. Please add your ideas if you think this would be cool.

Let me know what you think,
Steve

Certainly, Steve

If you can somehow manage to stage the events in-game it would be a massive improvement on a lot of the Oblivion story videos that are knocking around.

Obviously, I'm not entirely familiar with everything that ST has to offer yet but, as an ex-campaign writer for Thief, I could certainly help as regards scripting if you were to decide on all the things that you felt were worth plugging first off. It would then be possible to work it so that we use the voice acting to script out a few funny scenarios whilst referring to game elements for the new release. I've specialised in weaving info like that together in the past if you'd like my help on that but I certainly have no problem with the voice acting side of things.

Absolutely, Steve B. All help in all facets is appreciated and encouraged. We can rough it out here, then I'll put it into th CS. If I run into issues there, one guess who I run to then. Tongue

Some rough-cuts in my mind:
  • A conversation with a Bosmer Facegenned to look as MWesque as possible. A conversation ensues about Fargoth, his worthless wife's cousin, the ebony-armored guy in Mournhold with the impulse-control problem, and other amusing Bosmeri topics. Some good ol' Bosmeri lines from MW thrown in.
  • An in-depth interview with M'Aiq. Smile Do a sit-down interview with a "fake M'Aiq" where he does his best surrealist fortune-cookie impression outta MW.
  • Finding the Naked Nord. Big Grin As Andy said, absolutely mandatory. This is where I think an unintelligible Scot accent would be great to emphasize the whole rube, FOS (fresh outta Skyrim) thing.
  • You actually meet the Imperial who was looking to get outta Seyda, and life in Cyrodiil wasn't so idiilic, Smile so he's trying Silgrad.
  • I'm toying with the idea of Caius, but he may be too iconic for this.
All thoughts welcome; this is still very embryonic.

I'm fairly familiar with M'Aiq but Caius, Seyda and Fargoth are all pretty new to me. Anyhow, here's a Scottish (mainly Glaswegian, really) joke that you may like. Ask me if you don't get it or need bits translated. I know bits but Glaswegian really is tough to understand:

Two Glaswegians, Archie (pronounced Erchie) and Jimmy, are sitting in the pub discussing Jimmy's forthcoming wedding.

"Och, it's all goin' pure brilliant," says Jimmy. "A've got everythin'
organised awready, the fluers, the church, the caurs, the reception,
the rings, the meenister. Even ma stag night".
Erchie nods approvingly.
"I've even bought a kilt to be married in!" continues Jimmy.
"A kilt?" exclaims Erchie, "that's braw, you'll look pure smairt in that"!
"An' whit's the tartan?" Erchie then enquires.
"Och," says Jimmy, "A'd imagine she'll be in white!"

It could be set up in a youtube vid, I suppose but you'd need translated lines running along underneath like:

"Oooh, I'm really looking forward to it. I have already organised everything..."
