I have Maxon Cinema 4d Production Studio which I think has bodypaint in it...

I have just about every program imaginable. Like. Serious cat.

I prefer zbrush in every way to deep paint, which I think is rubish, it has a cumbersome interface to me. plus it appears weak to me.
having said that..
I have been working with zbrush for about a year or so now, and have only just recently felt confidant with my skills in it. I can do just about anything in zbrush, even create stuff start to finish in it(besides UVing).
But be warned, skills must be earned with hard labour, and trying everything out. zb is not that easy at first, atleast for me, but now it does seem obvious all the stuff I didn't like kinda made sense as I grew with the prgram. now I can predict the results and choose methods of attack. it's win.

alternatively there is mudbox 2009, which looks like a big upgrade from the previous version. Which is what I used orginally before converting to zb. :check:
