Bitter Coast "Latrys South" [Claimed]
See Information for Region Modders for important modding information.

Claimed by TheImperialDragon!

What is the Bitter Coast?

he Bitter Coast is the humid, swampy region covering the eastern coast of our landmass as well as the western coast of Vvardenfell. Old ES Veterans will probably be very familiar with the Bitter Coast. Bordering the Bitter Coast on our landmass is the Deepen Meadows to the southwest, Ashunor Valley and Steadhelm to the west, and the Reich Parkeep region to the northwest.

This particular claim is for the Bitter Coast for all of Southern Latrys Island. Please consult the region map for details on our landmass, see also the attached map.

The land is bitter, the air is bitter, the water is bitter, such is why the Bitter Coast is appropriately named. Few people know their way around, making the Bitter Coast an ideal locale for bandits whose caves dot the region.

Generation Preset

Open the Oblivon and Silgrad ESMs in the CS and find the region named "STBCLatrysNorth" under our worldspace (SilgradTowerLand). Duplicate the region and rename it according to your modder's abbreviation.

Once you have a base region to work from, you may make small changes to the region preset. Test the preset by auto-generating a small area of 6 * 6 cells, then if you are satisfied, send your ESP file to TheImperialDragon to be checked for errors. Once TheImperialDragon clears it, the file will be sent to sandor so it can be merged to the main ESM. You should not begin generating the whole region until after your preset has been merged to the main ESM. After the preset is merged, you may begin generating the landscape. It would be best to send small chunks of generated material at a time. The file size of the ESP you are working from should never exceed (and probably shouldn't even approach) 15 Mb.

After the region has been generated, you may begin customizing the landscape by hand, whether it be with paths, villages, dungeons, nature scenes, ruins, or anything else that comes to mind. Smile

Roads and Population

This area of the Bitter Coast may be slightly inhabited if you wish. You should use SACarrow's shack tileset, as their platforms make them suitable for soggy ground. There can only be one village.

You should draw on the roads showed in the red highlighted area in the second attached image. They don't have to be exactly as shown, so you can be creative with them. Be sure to draw extra roads to any villages you create.
None, I was going to update the post after your preset was merged so all sections of the Bitter Coast use the same preset, or based on the same preset anyway.

As it says in the OP:
Quote:This particular claim is for the Bitter Coast for all of Southern Latrys Island. Please consult the region map for details on our landmass, see also the attached map.

The purpose in dividing the Bitter Coast into four parts (Bitter Coast North is not yet posted) was because of its size on our landmass. When you look at this map, you can see the Bitter Coast area is pretty large, and it would be unreasonable for one person to claim and have to do all that. The Reich Parkeep region looks pretty large, but we split it into smaller, more varied regions.

Perhaps we should do a small change into the generation preset, like adding more textures around stones or a little bit different textures and some other models.

That's a good idea, small variations from area to area. Smile

Are there going to be some velothi (like) mountains on the southern tip on the island, just as one map says or not?

Not unless the modder wants to add the Velothi mountains on that side of the island. I could split the claim though if that's what you are asking.

(that map is old at this point, there have been several changes - like adding Dumac - since then)

That's up to you.
You're the boss (or RW).

Did you ever get the PM about Latrys South I sent?

If you could do those roads, that would be great. Smile
