Bitter Coast "South" [OLD CLAIM]
See Information for Region Modders for important modding information.

Open!

What is the Bitter Coast?

he Bitter Coast is the humid, swampy region covering the eastern coast of our landmass as well as the western coast of Vvardenfell. Old ES Veterans will probably be very familiar with the Bitter Coast. Bordering the Bitter Coast on our landmass is the Deepen Meadows to the southwest, Ashunor Valley and Steadhelm to the west, and the Reich Parkeep region to the northwest.

This particular claim is for a part of the Bitter Coast stretching from east of the Deepen Meadows region all the way up to Latrys Island. Please consult the region map for details on our landmass, see also the attached map.

The land is bitter, the air is bitter, the water is bitter, such is why the Bitter Coast is appropriately named. Few people know their way around, making the Bitter Coast an ideal locale for bandits whose caves dot the region.

The Ashunor River is important because it flows through our landmass. Starting from our main city, Silgrad Tower, it flows to, through and around the Deepen Moor, back down south of Ashunor valley, north between the valley and the Steadhelm region, and up through the Bitter Coast region (past Ebbedin) into the Inner Sea.

Generation Preset

Open the Oblivon and Silgrad ESMs in the CS and find the region named "STBCLatrysNorth" under our worldspace (SilgradTowerLand). Duplicate the region and rename it according to your modder's abbreviation.

Once you have a base region to work from, you may make small changes to the region preset. Test the preset by auto-generating a small area of 6 * 6 cells, then if you are satisfied, send your ESP file to TheImperialDragon to be checked for errors. Once TheImperialDragon clears it, the file will be sent to sandor so it can be merged to the main ESM. You should not begin generating the whole region until after your preset has been merged to the main ESM. After the preset is merged, you may begin generating the landscape. It would be best to send small chunks of generated material at a time. The file size of the ESP you are working from should never exceed (and probably shouldn't even approach) 15 Mb.

After the region has been generated, you may begin customizing the landscape by hand, whether it be with paths, villages, dungeons, nature scenes, ruins, or anything else that comes to mind. Smile

Roads and Population

This area of the Bitter Coast may have no more than one settlement because it is far isolated.

Roads should be added sparingly because there is a particularly sparse population in this region.

And here is a map of the region:
Note the coordinate in the image (65, -31) is supposed to be (65, -39)

I see a coordinate error here. 71,-39 and 65,-31 are on the same line.

I know. Smile There's a note underneath the screenshots, though I forgot the post was in HTML.
