The problem with that is it would be inconsistent with the rest of the mod, where are all the other babies? And secondly, inconsistent with the stock game.

I think TOYB is quite right about this, for all the reasons he just gave. Still, it's been an interesting discussion.

Nevertheless it would be good to include the current (adult) Mane in some way, though it might require a somewhat altered khajiit model.

It'll need to be a very strange thing for it to work, also there would need to be two versions, one of him on his throne, and another on his palanquin. The one on his throne is the easier version, the actual race doesn't need to be modified (because you won't see much of it anyway), what it does need modeled is his mane, set up as armour, and because of the nature of his mane, it's going to be immensly hard to rig, and also need to include in the mesh all of his clothes, jewlery, etc, it all needs to made into one armour mesh (that would take up all of the armour slots on the Mane NPC). The most annoying thing however, is that it has to be modeled in a way that it still looks good when the Mane is sitting, another layer of complexity.

The version of him on his Palanquin will be even harder, not because of the Mane himself, but for making the Palanquin, which will need to be a custom mountable creature, and a very complex one at that (being that it's held up by 4 Khajiit, which need to be part of the creature). Then it would need new mount animations (you don't need to use the horse mount animations, on the same position the player is in, it's possible to make custom ones). However, the end result will be that the Palanquin can move around, and the Mane can still talk to the player.

Hmm. Making the Mane sounds like a pretty major mod in itself...

We'd need to find someone who was an expert at rigging and had a lot of time on their hands. They're not going to be easy to find. It might be easier if the player only meets the Mane through his servants.

Bear in mind that we don't actually have to include the mane until we start making the MQ, which will be an age away.

Excellent point. Any modelers we manage to recruit would be better placed on architecture duty.
