WOW no suggestions.... you are slipping

Thanks

So then I was thinking about books !!!

I'd like to have 1 book for each ingredient known in all of Tamriel

Each Book would include The Ingredient Common Name, Scientific Name
Were it grows, what it needs to grow, it's uses, discription. (If we have a picture thats nice too) Were and When it was discovered and by whom (if any of that is known) ( I suppose we can make something up) and other things

Here is an Example: Of course I know nothing. so those who do know this stuff are welcome to give me the info and I can do the actual book making

Common Name: Ash Yam
Scientific Name: Ashus Yamus <<<< thought that up my self made up :lmao:

Found: Vvardenfell, Morrowind etc ..etc...

Discription: Ash Yam is a tough and tuberous root. The root itself has a red-and-brown color, tipped with several dark-green leaves. Remarkable are the three rather big brown leaves sticking out on top of the root. Ash Yam grows commonly in the Ascadian Isles and is a favoured vegetable.

Other than its diety properties Ash Yams are used in many Medicinal and Achelmetic fourmulas

Increase Strength:

Ash Yam
Daedra Skin
Dreugh Wax
Vampire Dust

Mix 2 Parts Ash Yam, 1/4 part Daedra Skin, 1 part Dreugh Wax and 1/2 part Vampire Dust

Grind ingredients into an extra fine powder

Cook for 4 hours, quickly remove excessive wax which floats to the top

Allow to Cool for 1 hour

Pour mixture into Flask

etc etc etc

Wha you think about that ???

umm - bob #####s have you ever heard of the Botany Books?

They are already being run as a University of Silgrad Tower publication, and as mentioned earlier many of the contributors have U of ST degrees. Could be that the Cerro will have their own, ancient, TES3 version = I will start a thread for that now. And if this is the Ancient Cerro, then it should include stuff that is no longer obtainable in Morrowind today - extinct plant species!

Another thread I suppose, must find TES3 Lit Dev, one moment. Oops - no TES3 Lit Dev - will put a thread in TES4 LD for the moment - calling it The Ancient Cerro Botany Book.

Yeah we dont want things getting lost

Yes I did see it Smile

As far as the botony books in the Lit Section I can use that info to put together individual books for each of the Flora and other "things: which are used to make Potions/Elixers/Medicians etc etc etc........

Just so's ya know, I was referring to the "No Books" as a pun, in my sour sense of humor.... Its a library...its got no books, I haven't put any in yet

Confusedhrug: I know...it wasn't funny Sad

Ok back to clown school for me

Just thinking, re the Botany Books - the original Botany Book is the Morrowind Edition. It might be used in a basic Version in ST TES3 as an ingame tool.

Possibilities are: Naimer Indoril was the Editor who was assembling the Original Botany Book inspired by the by the famous Professor KuKulZa.

The Cerro Scholar who acts as their 'frontwoman' in Sigrad Tower heard of this and acting in accordance with their usual practices contacted her favorite Bookseller a revered purveyor of Rare Books called Jobasha in Vivec, who began tracking down the Publishers and added some of the research papers it to Cerro collection.

This set up a correspondence betweeen Jobasha and Naimer Indoril, which later came to include the Cerro Scholar, and inspired the idea of the University of Silgrad and it's location.

Your concept of individual books for each of the Flora would be Professor KuKulZa and his colleagues' papers and the other "things" might be the work of the Cerro Scholar adding to the Cerro Library's research base. These individual Books can then be released in TES4 also both in sets of individual research papers, small volumes and as a rare, and very large single 'almanac' edition known as 'the Morrowind Independant Thinkers' Botany Books Almanac Edition.'

Sounds Good

Good Title also

Yes the works of the cerro

My thought process here is that some of these books be available, and some be found during questing (the cerro being the requester) and some be written during the course of the game, as in the hero is sent to find an extremely rare "something" to be studied and catelogued. after sometime passes, a new book will be available ...the item studied Big Grin

this could occur throughout the game, I don't beleive we can put a completion on it because new things are always discovered, but we can (for TES 3 purposes) put a cap on the number of books.

some of these books will teach alchemy of course but not all of them (or do we ?)
I was thinking some might teach other things as well

Let's call the individual subject papers: 'Research Papers' - that would explain the single plant / animal subject, and allow them to be assembled as a major volume in culmination.

The Cerro Scholar in Silgrad Tower would have been creating Alchemical Research Papers in her search for 'the cure' = to attract interest and identify people who might contribute.

Naimer Indoril's Botany Research would be the perfect match to this so therefore the Cerro Scholar becomes the Head of the Alchemy Faculty.

Hey, know what, the babe who has the Chair in Alchemy is a bit of a bloodsucker :]

Even if the Uni specialises in alchemy on the Magical side, there would be other subjects taught... so yes - all the stuff that our Archie and the mages of Kedal would have used to create the 'Thing' could be there as speculative or confirmed research. Course, the chance of putting it all together so the player gets his/her own thing is almost zero unless a piece of the Kedal Spirit is involved ... :goodjob:

I edited my previous post to make more sense in terms of your insight.

Plus there is the Chivalric side of the Uni. That's not really my thing so much, but there may be a sensible Redoran/Indoril patriot out there who would like to concentrate on that ...
