Could someone help me learn how to texture?

I've decided that my skills in that area are increadibly lacking. Could someone help me improve. BTW, I use GIMP for texturing, and I have blender for 3d stuff. Contact me by PM if interested.

I'm afraid that I've never used GIMP, and Photoshop and I are not speaking, but you might PM Psychotic or Razorwing for advice. Actually, if you're starting from newbie status, it might be best if you Google for some GIMP or texturing tut's. Also check out our Faq board. It has some very good tut's on a lot of things.
