Counterfieting in Silgrad
Howdy

THis will be a multi facetted quest which will begin simply as a help wanted note on the message board in Silgrad

Murin Culnamo needs someone to do odd jobs, the jobs pays 10 gold per day and she asks only that you report on time each day for 3 days until her regular assistant returns

Day 1: she will ask you to pick up groceries at the market
Day 2: she will ask you to purchase some tools for her maintains man
Day 3: she will ask you to return some worn clothing and pick up new ones from Namalia's Clothing

On the 3rd request when she attempts to gives you the money to pay for the cloths she discovers she has run out and gives you a note authorizing you to withdrawl money from her account at the bank of Vv

You go to the bank and get the money, go to namalia's store and after the transaction you will be arrested and accused of counterfieting

You are jailed and questioned, the bank manager beleives your story and asks you to help find the real counterfiters in order to clear your name

you go around town questioning several people and discover that the bank teller and Murin Culnamo are the ones spreading this fake money
(who do we talk to?)(what do they tell you that makes you think its Murin and the teller?)

you confront Culnamo about it and she will confess and tell you she was only doing it because the counterfieters where holding her daughter hostage, the bank teller agreed to help by taking in the fake money and giving the counterfieters the real money and then passing out the fake money to the customers, he did this because of he loves Murins daughter and plans to marry her

She asks you to help her

You agree and she tells you the name of the person who confronted her, and where he hangs out, you go to the hang out find the man and confront him, he will deny it and get hostile, fight him and subdue him, he will give you a key and tell you the location of the counterfieters lair, go to the lair when you enter you will be attacked by the guards that are their
fight your way through and find Murins daughter who will be in the main chamber near one of the copying machines and another man, she will immediately cry out for help and run away fromt he man, he will attack you
Once you've killed or subdued all the counterfieters console the daughter and take her home, Murin will thank you and ask you to help her daughter to her room
you enter the bedroom and as you turn to leave you notice a gap behind the bookshelf, you open it further and see stairs leading down, go down the stairs and find yourself back in the main room of the counterfieters, you realize that the daughter was one of the counterfieters you call to the guard and explain, he arrests her. the bank teller thanks you and gives you a reward.

I think its a good idea, but it sounds to modern. For example, it is kind of hard to believe that there are counterfeit money making machines, how are you going to make counterfeit gold?

Stamping Machines would probably be the more accurate term. they got to have them, thiers coins being made

Good Question? Maybe their made out of a metal that is similar to gold in color Confusedhrug:

But that definitely raises the question of how do we do it

Thanks

Maybe make the machines make a material that looks allot like gold and can be easily mistaken for it, but allot cheaper than gold. And maybe add an option to instead of turning them in, join them and get money slowly.

But this does give me an idea: Have allot, and I mean allot, of quests that randomly appear on the message board, like have a script that makes a new one appear once a week. They can be very simple tasks that you get a few gold for, just to add immersion to the game.

Exactly

and

Yes that option should be available not ever one does the "play by the rules game" good idea I'll add that into the mix

Hopefully this will be done, I have always felt the same way, if we can get 30 or more misc quests together and have them appear as others are removed it would add really nice touch to the game, like a living city Smile

Thanks

I'm interested in how you were planning on detailing the quest. I don't think stamping machines were around back then... I think they may have been crafted by hand, not sure.

You might find some of the names in the Roman Currency section interesting. Wink

Good info

I think before the stamping process they used molds and the metal was heated and poured into prefabricated molds and then cooled

That might be the better route to go, and it would make a nice interior as well, to have a smelt of sorts
