little village build by settlers from around the Empire.
To the west of the farming community lies the manor
of Kashi Mantas, whom is the Redoran representative
to the Council of Elders that rules the city Silgrad
Tower. To the north lies a mysterious swamp dubbed
Deepen Moor, and as you might have guessed, their
shared name isn't a coincidence. The meadows are pleasant
while the moor is hostile and dangerous, as it serves
as a shelter for outlaws.<br />
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;If you follow the path eastward you'll come across
Galmsi Boras' shack as well as a small mine, which
both hug the mountainside of the Velothi Mountains.<br />
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The eastern wall of the city Silgrad Tower lies just
to the west of Kashi Mantas' Manor.<br />

&curren; Choose a set of landscape textures for the region and use/generate them on the alotted land as appropriate. Don't use the 'bw' or 'hd' sets from Qarl's landscape texture pack as they're already in use. You can use default landscape textures if you like, that wouldn't be a problem, but custom textures are better - not only because they'll give variety compared to the main game, but also because it gives such excellent control over them afterwards. If a better replacement for a particular texture appears six months down the line all one would have to do would be to switch files, without any need to mess up your work.<br />

<p>Try to think of Deepen Meadows as a paradise where everyone is nice and friendly, the soil flowering with food, and everyone is happy. The atmosphere could be likened to The Shire in the Lord of the Rings books, or for that matter the Ascadian Isles on Vvardenfell. It's a perfect contrast to dark and dangerous places like Deepen Moor or the Forgotten Forest; here, the player can kick his feet up and relax, spend a night at the tavern, stock up on supplies, and things like that.

The preset for this region will be worked on as soon as I have some rocks appropriate for this region. The village of Deepen Meadows might be set up a separate claim, though not likely. It depends on how things turn out.

EDIT 20/07/08: I'm still looking into getting suitable rocks.

Okay, I now have rocks and a few presets. Smile I'll be posting a bit more information about the status of this region sometime in the next couple of days. I'll also post some screenshots. Big Grin

Right now, I'm going to make landscape changes for Deepen Meadows. After those changes, I'll post some screenshots of a generated area and hopefully get some input. Big Grin

I was fortunate enough to get the region generated. Smile

The region uses landscape textures that are mainly from Vanilla Oblivion, but I also made some recolours of existing textures. I used certain rocks from the West Gash set, the Bitter Coast set, and the Ascadian Isles set. I picked a bunch that I thought would look good together, and made a yellowed version of the Ascadian Isles rock texture. All of the rocks you'll see in the screenshots use that texture. The region uses Ficus, WillowOak, and StBush trees. I think the mix of objects looks pretty good, overall. Big Grin

The region used three different presets. One for flat terrain, one for forests, and one for hills. I attached a quick map I made (from before the generation) that shows how I wanted to make the region look. In case they're of interest, here are some WiP screens of the different presets:
Plains: 1, 2, 3, 4
Forest: 1, 2, 3, 4
Hills (note: I changed this to have more rocks): 1, 2, 3, 4

There are a few new dungeons posted as well, in case anyone might be interested in claiming them. Wink

It seems a bit underdetailed for me, but i wouldn't have much better. Creating a detailed preset takes much time.
