WHAAAAAAT??? :pop:

A 4th edition of AD&D already!?
You've got to be kidding me... those guys just keep changing the rules, don't they?
First edition RULES! Second edition is acceptable if you keep some of the first edition rules, the third sucks! (altough the "to hit"system is easier in the third edition).

They should just go back to the old first edition rules, and replace the old "to hit" system, with the system from the third edition

'Cause the role playing options for first edition are so perfect

Oh, flashback.. But it has nothin to do with D&D ! *Starts thinking about WFRP TEW-SoB*
Hide the petals underneath that bedroom floorboard
and they will wither without fail or success.
Put the people in the hollow box they crafted,
bolt the doors and watch them perish.

So have you ever played first edition? ?(

The rules were a lot simpler (role playing instead of rule playing) and they worked fine, plus the Elven Cavalier, Ranger and Barbarian classes kicked ass Cool (the second edition utterly destroyed those classes and removed the Barbarian class and the Elven Cavalier) ;(
There is no need for a trillion bizarre options like: a gnome paladin  i can see it now, this tiny little garden gnome wearing full plate armor, kicking some huge pit fiend's ass back to the fiery pit it came from :lmao:
Third edition has a lot of ridiculous rules like that, the list just goes on and on, and the artwork of the Asian stuff made me feel sick

I've long since moved on past the D&D system, but first edition is essentialy greyhawk, while 3rd is far more of a toolbox approach, and as a DM I greatly appreciate that, I can actualy consider it as a viable option for creation of campaign settings, without having to wrestle with the rules.

I look at it as a DM, and I find the third edition approach far better in this regard, I've played 2nd edition extensively, and 1st edition a few times.
