Follow that Dunmer!
Background: A rich newcomer has taken up residence in Maar Mok. Several people have questioned why a wealthy strange Imperial, Corrudus Crunus, would buy a shack in a small village. It is very mysterious, but nobody asks any questions. It is uncertain why no questions are being raised, but a probably answer is that he is greasing their pockets to keep quiet, or using another not-so-legal method.

The Beginning: When you walk into town, you will see the Imperial walking around with a Dunmer following close behind him. When you approach these two, the Imperial will force a conversation with you: "STOP! THIEF! HE TOOK MY MONEY!" The Dunmer runs away.

The Middle: If you asked around town beforehand, you will learn about rumors of a den of thieves in the surrounding area, and many people will point out that the Dunmer following the Imperial looks remarkably like one of those thieves. The Dunmer will continue to run, and you will need to follow him. He comes to a cave not too far from the village. Follow him into the cave, and he will not be immediately hostile with you. He will force dialogue with you and tell you to reconsider your "wrongful justice." He will tell you that this Imperial has become so wealthy by blackmail and embezzlement. He urges to you that the Redorans do not like a vigilantee.

The End - Kill the Thief: You can kill the thief on his run to the cave. Talk to the Imperial and you will get a small reward of 50 gold.

The End - Kill the Thieves: You can follow the thief to the cave, and not believe his story. He will attack you. If you kill him and the rest of the thieves and report back to the Imperial, then you will get a larger reward, 150 gold, and he will allow you to keep anything that you found in the cave. He tells you that he will give a "monetary contribution" to everyone who will keep their mouths shut about your newfound goods.

The End - Kill the Imperial: You can believe the thief, and go back and kill the Imperial. He was not liked in the village, so you will gain a boost in disposition. However, the guards will look down on you for your vigilantee style and will put a price on your head for murder.

The End - Peaceful Resolutions: You can take the thief's advice and tell the guards about the Imperial. The guards will tell you that they have noticed suspicious activities, and they will give you 1,000 gold for your information that will lead to the arrest of this Imperial. The townspeople will tell you that they have been questioned by the guards, and they are confessing that they have been paying money to the Imperial in order to keep their secrets out of the public eye. The thieves give up their life style and settle down in Maar Mok. The Imperial can be visited in a nearby jail.

RE: Follow that Dunmer!
This is a clear and straightforward quest. I wonder what choices access to the construction set will give for NPC reactions?
Because loyalty is not to be spoken of and honour is to be endured. Whilst courage is to be survived. These virtues belong to silence.

But, if one man does nothing can he be said to be good? raggidman
