Freed Slaves

Freed Slaves
This is something we need to think about when we make characters. Slavery recently got abolished in Morrowind, and whilst I'm pretty sure a lot of people didn't just give up on a centuries-old tradition overnight, there will most likely be a fair number of argonians who did manage to get away during the bloody uprising against King Helseth that followed abolition.

So we need to think about these argonians. A lot of them were probably born in Morrowind and have never seen the marsh before, and they most likely have more in common culturally with the Dunmer than with the native tribes.

Because of this they're almost certainly looked down on just as much by the hardcore traditionalists as they were back in Morrowind. As a result, they may have started their own settlements. There's no more space for this in the beta region, although it's worth bearing in mind for other areas.

We should definitely include some ex-slave characters though.

The Sotho Tren will be in on the slave trade, so perhaps there could be a few misc. quests for ex-slaves against the ST.
Trespassers will be shot.
Survivors will be shot again.

The Sotho Tren probably have their fingers in every pie, but the Trillium Magnata is the one that specialises in slavery. Would you be interested in drawing up a few quests?

I guess so, sure. Smile

I'll drop in some ideas tomorrow.
Trespassers will be shot.
Survivors will be shot again.

Aye, that would be good. I particularly like the idea of a colony of ex-pats. In fact, any of the existing settlements that have not been city-planned could be adapted. Sloughpoint, for instance, is fairly well-developed but could be tweaked to fit with this idea.

I'd happily write slave orientated quests, I loved setting them free in Vvardenfall.

Basically, which of the beta settlements is the least interesting? We can turn that into an ex-pat colony.

I'd probably choose Sloughpoint. It's one of, if not the, oldest settlements in our esm in modding terms. You wouldn't need to adapt it at all, just do the settlement planning with that theme in mind.
