Governor's Mistress/Duchess Lover

This is a simple quest, no killing and nothing to get, just talking

How boring is that


Veranis Hall

Speak with the locals about rumors and they will mention seeing the Governor meeting with a young woman outside of town, in the evening (oooohhhhh) they don't know who she is but she is young and attractive, they also recognize one of the guards who was escorting her one of their very own town guards


the women of veranis hall will not like this one bit

they will say: The Governor is a two timer, he should be ashamed leaving his wife and children at home while he courts another

the men of the town will say:

That governor is a real man, wife and all those children yet he still finds the energy to host another female

this will prompt the journal entry

Rumor is the Governor has taken on a mistress, doesn't seem to be favorable by the woman folk of this town.


Maybe we should talk to that guard

Talk to the guard, he will tell you it is all gossip, the governor has not taken on a mistress and if he hears anymore word of it, he have someones head

This will bring up the Topic "Governors Mistress"

Speak to the guard again this time about the topic Governor's Mistress

The guard will say she is not his mistress but mearly a friend and he can not speak any further on the subject, I should speak directly to the governor

(This Guard and Vargara will be the only 2 to have this topic)

Speak with the Governor

He will tell you that the "Mistress" is a friend and she is helping him with a problem, and nothing else should be said about it to ANYONE

Journal Entry

The Governor Denies having a Mistress and says if I speak about it anymore to anyone their could be trouble

At this point everyone in Veranis Hall, except Mrs. Vagara and all the little Vagara's will have this topic "Governor's Mistress" If you speak with anyone about it they will all say "I do not know what you are talking about" if you talk to 4 npc's about this topic you will be approached by the guards who will arrest you (no resistance allowed) instant transport to prison

you will then see Vagara and he will tell you that he asked for you not to speak about it and say's now you have to stay in prison until "His favor" is completed UNLESS you promise to remain silent

Agree and you will be released, refuse and you say for another day and then your released (I'll tell you what happens in a bit)

If your released, you can no longer speak about it, the tpic is still available but if you talk to anyone about it your immediatly arrested as before

this is were we end the Veranis Hall portion ( a mystery hmmmmm)

Karthor Dale

When you enter Karthor Dale and speak to any of the locals about local rumors you'll get the normal stuff, until you speak with Azarimal of the famor Azarimal "Has it" general store

He will tell you that the Duchess of Karthor has taken a lover and will say it is the ORC fellow

this will add the topic Duchess Lover to the list

now if you ask around the locals will have this topic available, each will have something different to say

NPC#1 Azarimal: Did you hear, the Duchess has taken a lover, I think it is that Orc fellow
NPC#2 Snotius: The Orc, no no not the Orc its the Argonian
NPC#3 Maran Priest: What, a lover you say, I don't believe it, but if it were true it would probably be her personal guard hmmm, I can't remember his name
NPC#4 Grisselle: We did have a new professor come to the school, maybe it is he
NPC#5 The Duchess Royal Guard: WHAT this is treason, are you trying to ruin the good name of the Duchess, I am "with the Duchess" constintly I would know of a lover (hint)
NPC#6 The Duchess: Well my, my rumors sure do get around, no I do not have a secret lover. Whoever told you that was mistaken
NPC#7 ORC: Me no lover, the Duchess is ugly

now you've talked to everyone about this subject notice the (hint)

if you spoke to the royal guard you'll notice this topic has come up "With the Duchess"

Speak witht he guard again, this time about the topic "With the Duchess"

Yes I am with the Duchess always as her guard, as a matter of fact, we where just in Veranis Hall meeting with Gov....... thats all I have to say be gone

Now we know who the Governor was meeting with, we just do not know the why

Speak with the Duchess one more time who will now have the topic Meeting with Governor

She will tell you she did meet with him, but the meeting is a secret,if I want to know I should speak with the governor himself

RETURN to Veranis Hall

Speak with Governor Vagara who will now have the topic Meeting with Governor

He will say YES this is true, but its not what you think... the Duchess is a good friend and she is making arrangements for a special shipment from High Rock for my wifes birthday...that is the secret ! If you really want to help, just keep your mouth shut !

Now what did the player get for all this



Nothing, its just a fun thing to do...... no reward

after everything is done the next time you ask the locals about the Mistress rumor they will say

Can you believe that Governor, he had us all fooled

and in Karthor Dale

The townfolks will say: She may not have lover now!! but keep an eye on that Orc fellow I think he really likes her
