Is there something i should do in nifskope before i load it into the cs?

ideally you would sculpt a high poly mesh and render out a projected normal map from that.

second to that would be to paint a height map, or partial height map, and fiddle around with the layers when you painted your texture. and make a few normal maps, from the color maps layers, the height map, and if you have one you rtted from the high poly mesh. hitting an nvidia filter over a finished color map sucks rather badly in many cases.
