Region Guidelines

Procedure
originally written by sandor

(This procedure must be followed to prevent conflicts between regions)

1.
If someone claims a region, the claimholder has to start with the landscape generation preset for the region. The region's preset must start with "St" (for example: StDeepenMoor). The claimholder has to create the region (area) as per the coordinates of the claim description.

2.
The claimholder has to create a test region of 6*6 cells or larger.
After he/she is satisfied with the result, the test file has to be send to TheImperialDragon and/or the Core.

3.
After TheImperialDragon accepts the preset, the claimholder has to delete the test region area (not the region preset itself) and make sure that everything has been obliterated (*). Copy the preset (test region) to the claimed region, after that delete the test region.

(*) If the test region isn't located within the region area itself also delete the textures (by hand)!

4.
The claimholder sends the file to sandor.
Do not generate the landscape (see below under 7).
sandor will merge the preset including the region area (as per the coordinates of the claim description) to the esm. New objects and land textures (used in the preset) have to be merged to the esm as well.

5.
sandor will send the link of the updated esm.

6.
If the claimholder wants to change something in the preset after it has been merged to the esm, start a new esp and repeat the steps 2,3,4.

7.
Start a new esp and generate the landscape. Submit your esp file(s) with the generated content for merging. These esp files should contain only the generated regions.

After the next internal ESM update, start modding (adding content and adjusting the landscape manually).

Limitations

Do not alter existing region areas. Keep your region confined to the coordinates outlined in each claim description. They can be found in the attached maps of the claims. If you do alter something (even unintentionally) outside your claim area, you absolutely must mention it. If you're not sure whether you did or not, mention it anyway.

Claims

Region claimholders are allowed to set up their own claims. However, they are not permitted to merge them to their files themselves. Any region claims will be handled the next time you send your file to sandor for checking.
