The Main Quest - Spoilers Ahead!
"The Main Quest"

How are we handling the mainquest?
The Main Quest of Elsweyr will be broken into 6 Chapters: Introduction, Rebel, Warrior, King, God, Rebel/Champion.
These Chapters relate to the mythic Ra'Ra'Ra' of which the player mantles during the story, however each part also relates to it's name aswell, for instance Rebel deals with the Renrija Krin, a faction which in essence embodies the rebellion Elsweyr is so well known for.
Each of these 'Chapters' are then broken up into specific quests, totalling around 21-23 quests for the entire Main Quest (though the parts don't have an equal amount of quests each).
Each 'Chapter' will be up for someone to claim, as each should be designed in their own unique way given they reflect differnt parts of Elsweyr, and differnt overall moods, however all of the quests in the Main Quest have a rough outline already (coming from conversations between myself (TOYB) and Ja-kha'jay), what they do need developed is characters and dialogue, and more indepth development.

Can you give us a summary of the mainquest?
The Main Quest is for the most part, about experiencing Elsweyr, the Clans, the Mane, the Sugar trade, the Cities, and the politics & relegion that binds the province together.
What the rest of the Main Quest is then, is a story, one worthy of TES, focusing on the rise of the player to the Mythic Ra'Ra'Ra', the opposing force to the Mane, he who is an Echo of Lorkhan, as the Mane is a Echo of Akatosh.

Introduction

Focusing on getting the player to Elsweyr, which will be via a smuggler's boat to Senchal. Following this it will introduce the player to the Moon Sugar trade, and eventually to the Renrija Krin, beginning the second chapter, Rebel.

Rebel

Focusing on the Renrija Krin, which will be a (relatively small) faction questline in the mainquest, in which the player will have the chance to fight against Imperial Interests, which are being supported by the Do'itt Brigade in the region (an Imperially chartered Merc group, similar to the Blackwood Company when they were chartered to clear the Blackwood region for the Empire). After attaining the rank of Raja Fera (The Wild King), the player will gain a major Fame boost, which means Anequina will talk with you, opening up Warrior to the player.

Warrior

Focusing on the Anequina tribe, and it's relationship between Pellitine and the cities (focus mainly on the Northern Cities). Trains the player in the ways of a Khajiiti Warrior, and introduces the player to the legends, myths and prophecies of Ra'Ra'Ra', aswell as general Tribal Khajiiti culture. At the end of Warrior, the player is sent off, having become an honourary member of the tribe, with other warriors from Anequina, to the Temple of the Two-Moons-Dance in Torval, to be trained as Warrior-Monks (in exchange for various commodities the tribe gets in return), which begins King.

King

Focusing on some of the temples of Elsweyr (Temple of the Two-Moons-Dance and Temple of the Starry-Heart), introducing the player to the Mane, and the player 'becomming' Ra'Ra'Ra'. The first half deals with The Temple of the Two-Moons-Dance, in which they begin training you in their fighting style, but also they recognise you fit the prophecies of Ra'Ra'Ra' and inform the Mane. You are tasked with find the Armour of Ra'Ra'Ra' (which is deemed an immpossible task, for the armour is intombed with a previous Ra'Ra'Ra' in a lost burial site somewhere in Elsweyr), after it is recovered the player is then sent off to learn how to 'mantle' the oversoul of Ra'Ra'Ra' (so that you truly are one-and-the-same with all previous Ra'Ra'Ra'), which means going to the Temple of the Starry-Heart (where the Monks there mantle stars while high on Moon Sugar). After mantling Ra'Ra'Ra', you are then sent back to the Mane to begin your 'duties' as Ra'Ra'Ra', beginning God.

God

Focusing on the 'duties' as Ra'Ra'Ra' and the relationship with the Mane, aswell as the previous incarnations of Ra'Ra'Ra'. The player is tasked with finding an Amulet of a previous Ra'Ra'Ra', in a long lost burial site, however when the player finds this place, Mythic Dawn agents are excavating the ruin. The player defeats these agents, and finds the Amulet of Ra'Ra'Ra' inside a giant ribcage (of a Senche-Raht Ra'Ra'Ra', fasioned into an actual cage), the player 'opens' the cage to retrieve the Amulet, however unknowingly also releases the Spirit of Rangough (which was the objective of the Mythic Dawn being there in the first place), which escapes from the tomb. The player returns to the Mane, and is informed about Rangough, that he was one of the worst threats Ra'Ra'Ra', even all of Elsweyr, as ever faced. The player's mission is then to track down Rangough and defeat him again; the player is sent to Dune, with the Mythic Dawn having a Headquarters there in the province. The player then takes down the MD chain-of-command in the province, and goes onto find Rangough, destroying his spirit utterly, but not before it is revealed to the player, that eventually the Mane will betray the player, as has been the tradition for many centuries, that the Mane controls Ra'Ra'Ra' and will eventually send them to their death. Beginning Rebel/Champion.

Rebel/Champion

Dealing with the revelation of the previous Chapter, that the player is, and Ra'Ra'Ra' has been, for centuries, the pawn of the Mane, that the Mane seeks to control the player, for their own interests, and what they beleive is 'best for Elsweyr'. The player can either choose to accept this, and let the cycle of servitude Ra'Ra'Ra' indures to continue, becomming the 'Champion' the Mane has fashioned Ra'Ra'Ra' to be, for better or worse, or the player can become 'The Rebel', becomming all they can be and letting into their nature (and thus whole) rising up against the Mane, backed by those who follow you (the 'Krin, the Clans, the Temples, etc) and set Ra'Ra'Ra' free by giving them the knowledge of what the Mane has done- throwing Elsweyr into Chaos, but as said wisely in the PGE 'It may be fair to say that Elsweyr is in crisis. And it may further be accurate to say that such chaos is home'.

There will be a quest, based on one I designed a few years back that deals with the Valenwood-Elsweyr relations directly (and also ongoing 5-year-war references), but not anything near a Bosmer invasion (nor something they would do, the Bosmer aren't usually organised in a military sense, invasions and wars are uncommon for them), there's also the technical side of an invasion, complex and detailed scripting, more work would have to be done for Bosmeri assets, etc, which weighs down on how practical an 'invasion' would be to make.

That's probably the best main quest summary I've ever seen posted on this site. Very well done, JKJ and TOYB! I suppose a more detailed list of the missions will be next?

Yup, we'll get the Chapters posted as threads, give them a reasonibly detailed description, the amount of quests, what each quest needs to do, what character roles we need filled, etc. And yes I'm very proud with how the MQ is turning out, alot of work has been put into it Smile
