rather stupid question

In the same E3 demo, it showed the dev picking mushrooms, and there wasn't an inventory that popped up. I don't know about the inventory thing when you whant to take something off of a corpse, all I know is that the arrows stuck out of the bucket when the dev shot it, and he pulled them right back out to get them.

And what if NPC is carrying meat, plates, potions? Are these also visible?

I do not think that ingredients are visible. There will likely be an inventory screen for that.
