They have monitors that can do this without the goggles.

Monitors that are so expensive that not even Bill Gates can chuckle at them. Big Grin

This is a cool idea, though. I might get one someday.

I have this for my TV, actually. Or, I did. Lightning fried it. But be aware: this only really works in complete darkness. If there's any other light sources other than your TV/monitor in the room you're in, the depth effect won't be so great and you'll get a massive headache.

You should consider getting it fixed. If I had one of these, I'd probably cherish it. Big Grin

Anyone know how those monitors actually work? I looked but couldnt find a detailed description of them...and since labeled them as "black magic" and left it at that heh.

Holographic displays? I forget for the most part, but I think it has something to do with making the image twice and combining it in some way...? (Edit: Read this if you want more info than you really need to know about them.)

Oh, and another thing to keep in mind about this device: make sure that, if you're using wireless glasses, that the emitter is about on-level with the glasses. When I first got it, I had the emitter on the floor, and it didn't work. Spent days trying to figure it out. And I solved it by accident, really...
