Since I'm doing the legs too (something decided recently) I think I'll aim for around 15K. After that is done there's the helmet/mask, boots and gauntlets,or whatever they are, left. Then the whole set will be done! Aaah! I want to see it!
BTW I'll have to cut down a bit on this project for some weeks now or else I won't be able to handle school
I also got the count of triangles on the model: 4450. So there's alot of triangles to spare

often I'll end up using 3k tri just for a helmet. If not a far bit more in some cases. I say 20k tris is about cush for a full armor set. which gives you plenty of leeway for overspending on the polys,
and if your mesh is really nice, I wouldn't bat an eyelid to 25-30k. you have to be realy nice or else I'd do this for about 2secs :eek:
Its nothing to worry about. you just get bonus points from modellers if you don't waste poly. and don't make a sword mesh thats 10-36k tris :lmao: there really is no need for that.

This armour is looking to good to be true! i wish all the ST armours were created based on the concepts! Can't wait to see the helmet!

Yesss! I've now got a kinda good idea about the armor!
I'm going to make some kind of robe-ish thingy (that can later be used as a seperate piece later perhaps
) that will look somewhat like the pic below.The backside looks more like in my mind than the front.
And one more thing... I've thought about adding some straps or something like that at various fitting places. If that sounds like a bad idea then please tell me. Compliments and complaints are two of my main sources of energy

The robe-ish thingy looks great too
Its hard to tell how this will fit onto the character, but the bottom looks like it would extend nearly to the knee, unless this is the intent, it might could use less angle so that it rides closer to the hip

I'm actually aiming for it to end somewhere around the knee and below the hip. That shape gives alot of designing-opportunities (difficult to explain things that are still in my head). I think that there will be a similar but not as far down part on the other side of the robe too. . .
It'll all be explained, so that you all understand, in time. But this will probably be all for this week since there's a large test soon
My weekend is somewhat free so you can expect some progress-pics then

Over Here there's a link to the symbol for the Morag Tong. If you want you can incorperate it into the armor somehow. Just a suggestion.
