I think it should be a tile set with pieces that can interlock with one another, but also with pieces that can stand alone by themselves. If we make more than one "hist ruin" site in the game, we can then use the various pieces in different visual set-ups, so each hist ruin site looks unique.

I originally had a stand-alone piece in mind but the idea of inter-locking items would probably be better, especially as some ruins will be more broken-up than others. =) It's only a small-ish item though so take your time crafting some really nice pieces rather than going on an epic scale with loads of different construction options. Just FYI, I was thinking of adding one of the SI effects to where the Hist trees will stand.
Actually, we've been considering adding different dungeon tilesets and I'd wanted to use the ruin tileset from SI on a few occasions. So perhaps one of the models you make can be an entrance. That way some of the shrines will be dungeon locations....
Let me know when you're done as, if you're interested, there's one last big piece of modelling that needs to be done here. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. :yes:

I believe I can help with literature, though I have to say I'm a bit unfamiliar with Black Marsh Lore. Perhaps I can write from the perspective of explorers coming to Black Marsh? I Think I can find a place where I can read up on the lore a bit more, and perhaps add some of my own.

Welcome! I suggest you search for "the Argonian Compendium" on http://www.imperial-library.info for starters. That's the best lore source I know of.

Hi Eshenaleros! Glad you dropped by. Please read the first post in this thread. If you sign up for a naming code here: Naming Codes then you can start submitting stuff (and getting the recognition for it).
Regarding the lore, I would suggest browsing around here: http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/board.php?boardid=155 . Threads like 'Black Marsh Lore' and 'The Argonian Account' contain some useful information. If you'd like to submit something then that's probably your best place to visit. One of the strengths of the old team was that they were very good with the lore..
Btw, thanks for adding the information on the member bios page. This information will eventually get added to our website when it's up and running so if you feel the need to add, delete or change anything later then you'll need to notify the guys on this thread: A black marsh website? . In the meantime, having noted your interest in VA work, you might like to click on the link in my sig for my VA videos. When you get noticed, other VAs sometimes get in touch with you and it can be quite an eye-opener at times....

Writing stories and making quests is something that we'll definitely need.
I'm sure Ibsen is tickled pink with a new possible voice actor, too.
Btw, have you ever used the Construction Set for TESIV:Oblivion?
If so, then I know Ibsen also needs help with exterior landscaping and interior cluttering of houses and such. It's not as hard as it sounds:
You delete unwanted stuff from the landscape (or otherwise prune away things from overly cluttered areas), add wanted stuff (like specific plants and rocks, etc) and put them into the ground to decorate, fix "floaters' (rocks/etc that are floating above the ground - these need to be put onto the ground), and take care of clipping objects (ex: if a flower mesh is partway into a rock or tree mesh, you can move it so it is not doing that).
But anyways, do what you want and what you're good at. I'm sure Ibsen will tell you what you need to know, and he and I will help guide you through the processes that you choose to try out.

Thanks for coming. Both of those areas are in their very early stages. Regarding the voice acting, we have recently recruited Eshenaleros who will also be helping out but, as I told him, until the quests are finalised, the dialogue is sorted and we're underway then there's not going to be much for a good while. However, yourself and Esh are down on my list now. =)
As for Quests, you may have already noticed the Quest forums: http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/board.php?boardid=154 . These are to develop your ideas online whilst members of the team discuss your ideas, check them for fitting into the lore and offer general guidance and assistance. At the moment, we have Deeza working on ideas for the Fighter's Guild quests and InsanitySorrow working on the Shadowscales. What we lack at the moment, however, are a few small quests to get us going and start building a more rounded idea of the Black Marshes dungeon locations so it would be great if we can work with you to do that. Taking a look at the settlements we have created may inspire a few city/settlement quests.
The grander ideas will sprout from the 'lore' section here: http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/board.php?boardid=155 . The rootworm and Sarpa lore will probably be claimed by myself, ThePriest909 and Deeza eventually though, once the ideas are more fully developed. In the meantime, check out the 'List of Factions' as this should give you an idea of the sort of questlines we're looking to develop. Discount the 'Blackwood Company' and 'Imperial Navy' though.
You will also notice that this thread is quite lively at the moment: Dungeon Design Strategy . This concerns some of the dungeon tilesets that we currently have available and others that we are considering developing.
