Alright, so as it seems to work fine let me try to arrange one interior. I didn't find any interiors of Gideon listed, only Stormhold ones. I will see if I can do something with either the Terrarium or the Museum. (lol, by the way Alexius art on the Constantine Order and inside of it heh)

As per your post, you simply need to have the interiors furnished with BM stuff and have NPC added? No any kind of a small quest related with it?

I still wonder about the storyline. Probably too many questions asked at this point, so let me hold my horses. Yet my first impression, from what I read is that it is a vast epic tale with the emphasis on the richness of the realm. I'm not sure if you plan any mainline quest...

Don't get me wrong. It's your project, so if I am expected to simply furnish the interiors, I will. Yet for now I cruise the land of the Black Marsh in game mode, trying to see what the mod is mostly about. And it's a human nature to wonder and ask questions. You know Thief was usually about a point you prove in the story, protagonist, antagonist, conflict, arc... all that jazz... Wink I guess that will come later and I need to be patient.

- Ibsen's Ghost - 04-03-2010

Aye, it's a much more expansive storyline than Thief. Thief had a linear structure that was very guided. Oblivion demands greater variety and adaptability. You can drive a central storyline (and we will have a mainquest) but various quests will come to have an effect on the main one and the overall impression of the mod. It's a case of picking things up as you go along.

Ask you get acquainted, feel free to ask questions and we can start to fill in the grey areas.

Regarding those interiors, I'll be adding some of these items to the archive later: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=29931 but you'll need to know which others we have available as display items. Likewise, the terrarium may feature stuffed versions of the creatures I'm just adding so both of those are a bit WiP. However, if you know how to add a creature that is static, you're best off going for the Terrarium, or leaving spaces to put missing items in later.

Failing that, a simple house interior like this one would be a good introduction to the items and stuff that's available: NJRI0313 "Stormhold: Kaasha J'Dendra's House" .

Regarding the Constantinian Order, this may interest you: The Stormhold Missionary .

- jb3 - 04-03-2010

You're right, Kaasha House is a much better start. Let me try that first. Which of the establishments in Stormhold you consider ready, so I could have a base for comparison?

Wow, that's a lot of narrative. Give me a moment to read it carefully.

- Ibsen's Ghost - 04-03-2010

Always check the archives for completed claims if you're looking for a comparison. I can't remember which one would be best but I know that Allenie's Allembic Supplies and the Inferno Inn are done. Both of these are a shop and an Inn respectively though. Unusually, we don't have too many completed house interiors. They tend to be quite easy so they're normally the first ones to go.

I marked this as claimed by yourself: NJRI0313 "Stormhold: Kaasha J'Dendra's House" (Claimed) . Any updates and feedback can now take place on this thread.

- jb3 - 04-04-2010

OK. I posted under that other thread. Indeed I refered a little to the Inferno Inn, but I didn't do any 'copy & paste'.

Not only I uploaded my version of the guy's hut, but I also spent some time visiting Stormhold. Well, nice city, very atmospheric. I truely marvel at the Black Marsh project. I now understand why you like it so much. Wink

I saw Constantine Church, where (ofc) I recognized a lot of Alexius work. It seems like a central point for the city, interesting.

I do have my first impressions (strengths, but also weaknesses), but since I actually haven't done much yet, I hold my horses, as it is easy to post friendly critique (and from what I read on this forum a lot of people did that in the past), instead of contributing to a project where everyone puts a lot of efforts, especially Ibsen.

- Ibsen's Ghost - 04-04-2010

As long as it's constructive, I don't mind. Smile

- jb3 - 04-04-2010

You sure you want to hear my opinion? lol

Well, first things first. I DO like the project a lot both in terms of the quality and large space (a big realm). This is something truely great. I like the cities, the terrain, the wild nature, the denizens. The cities and big, lively, colorful. Above all, the theme of Argonians and the Lizard King sounds very interesting! I'm curious as to the storyline. And the whole realm is almost as big as the original Oblivion's one.

Concerning Stormhold, what struck me was that the main thing about it is Alexius art. I mean it. Maybe it's too erly for me to say. And Alexius graphics, they are stunny, but they are also quite strong. He often uses bright colors (a lot of red and yellow). I might say his art is in a way aggressive. My opinion is to be careful with using it too much. One picture of Alexius usually makes a central point in any establishment.

Sometimes some of Alexius graphics don't fit. I mean putting many 'hammerite-like' or 'sacred-theme' pictures in, let's say, Inferno Inn... it didn't fit, in my opinion.

I guess what I want to say is that I saw Alexius pictures (the same ones) in every establishment in Stormhold.

Maybe we could get some more and different art to counter and somewhat soften Alexius strong ones?

Please don't be mad at me for expressing my opinion. I will gladly contribute to your project, no matter what, Alexius pictures or not. I understand how difficult it is to manage such a project. And often a manager has to reject some voices for the good of the project in general. I understand and respect that.

The above is just my opinion, so feel free to flame/comment/argue/convince me that I am wrong. Smile

- Ibsen's Ghost - 04-04-2010

Absolutely right! I've been wanting to make that point for a while actually. It was my decision to bring in Alexius' art but their use is purely restricted for the Stormhold Constantine storyline only and in relation to the Constantinian Order. I think I'll be going back over the interiors once Stormhold is done and, if there is an excessive use of those paintings, then I'll be changing them. The Chapterhouse and the Cathedral are the only places where they are likely to be used a fair amount. They can also be used as stained glass seeing as the Order sort of characterises a large part of Stormhold culture....but in generic interiors, they are definitely NOT to be used outside of Stormhold and only to be used in other Stormhold interiors if there is strong justification. Nevertheless, the axe and the hammer are symbols of Stormhold and that's the context in which they appear.

I used some in a house in Stormhold but that is only because the artist who drew them is located there. Do you think their use is still excessive though? Feel free to say yes.

- jb3 - 04-04-2010

I see. That makes perfect sense. Using them excessively in Constantine's Order and in any places related to it, sounds justifiable.

Mind it, Im not saying let's remove them entirely. Some of these arts you might, in my opinion, consider using in Stormhold non-religious establishments. Let me illustrate it with an example: Things like BMPainting01 or 06 I would restrict to church only. Yet BMPainting03 or 07 could be considered to be placed somewhere else as well. BMPainting03, for instance, looks quite atmospheric and lacks 'the usual sharp look of Alexius'. On the contrary BMPainting04 is a typical very strong one of Alexius. It's signed by him without him putting his signature on t, if you know what I mean.

Going over all the interiors of Stormhold and checking for paintings is a reasonable idea, if you ask me.

- Ibsen's Ghost - 04-04-2010

Actually, I think one of these might originally have been painted by Redface. Do you remember him? A good contributor. But yes, some are different to others. The hellish ones (can't remember the names) are strictly off-bounds until they're seen by our painter in Stormhold. Likewise, stainedglass01 is very much an Alexius painting and is reserved for the religious areas.

However, I kind of like 1 and 6 as they are. They suggest that the person may follow the faith without them necessarily being a monk. Anyway, we'll review Stormhold when it's done.
