Razorwing: I can make an alternative version of the tail if you would like, then we could compare them side by side. Though blender has no weld tool that I know of. (No worries, I can still do it just fine )
Other than that, I think the model is mostly finished. I may still need to add a few rings (not the ridges, just rings of vertices) to the tail like noremorse said, but im only doing that if I absolutely have to.
Here is the pic, I think now you guys can get a better idea of what I meant by having the inner section as part of the tail.
EDIT: horodnicdragos: I don't use any fancy features when I model. Everything is done through scaling, rotating, grabbing, extrusing, and subdeviding. Every once and a while I have to manually draw some faces too. Next time I model something I can make a screenshot tutorial of sorts if you want.

Man, you guys are making me like Redoran stuff so much more than I ever did before.

Agree...last one looks excellent.

Sure. You are the chosen one.The one who was meant to model the redoran buildings. Awesome job! :goodjob:

Here is the MW style tail.
EDIT: I also did a little stretching of the body. If you take the image from my last post, my first image in this post, and switch between them over and over (if your browser supports tabs) it looks really cool!

maybe we use both for variation purposes?
or maybe the door can be on the other side... ?
just to make it variant so it will be more interesting?

Next!
I may need to clean up some sections yet. I haven't added the hole in teh bottom or the spikes on the front either, but most of it is there at this point.
Also, just ignore all of that funky shading, blender doesn't seem to like sharper edges. It shouldn't show up in Max or OB.

its very very good :goodjob:
I think maybe to add variation, maybe a second one that has higher ridges and more arched?
that would add more variation that is subtle, and easier to make ways

As in a second version of the model? I don't think thats a problem, but that stuff should be saved for after there are skins on everything.

Neat, great job! :goodjob:
The size seems perfect too. I can do a render in Max if you like, and check out if the sharpness goes away? Oh, and I agree that variations would be great but best saved for after the texturing is applied. =)
