I finished baking the normals and occlusion for the entrance, and added a base diffuse texture. Its coming along slowly.

Can't explain how cool it is!

You've got some real skill there. I'm getting increasingly anxious to see what it'll look like in game. I get a sort of Tomb Raier-vibe from it. After walking through a jungle and an overgrown path she finally gets to the entrance of whatever it is she was looking for.
The carvings are particularly interesting. Do you draw your own concept art?

Thanks guys.
XAE: I do draw my own concept art, but I also drew inspiration from photos of real places.

Fantastic work, SG! It's been worth waiting for. I already have plans on how to work it into the landscape... :goodjob:

It looks really, really good! You really are talented, something fierce. How long did it take you to finalize the concept art for the symbols on the stones/entrance?

I pretty much just copied this thing...

It's a great thing to copy, though I don't think the Hist temple should be so well preserved, but rather overgrown and with broken carvings and such.
How's the rest of the surrounding architecture going to look? This is the entrance to a maze, right?
- Ibsen's Ghost - 10-19-2009
I think I can answer that. I believe this was kind of a centrepiece in a way to introduce the start of the maze-like structure with a Hist tree at its centre. The ornamentation might be seen to represent the symbolic act of entering the mouth of the earth. From what I saw of SG's concepts, the walls of the maze structure are less ornate but I do know that he was planning to have vines and overgrown or broken sections....hopefully, I can make use of the walls themselves and various sub-sections to modify some SI ruins thus partially introducing a new tileset....
