Sweet stuff, SG! You're certainly whetting my appetite for this....

a clean, and ruined game-rez version of the pillars that will be used.
The design is meant to show how the branches of the hist tree reach toward the sun, and the roots reach toward the planet's core. It could also be a representation of reality and the Hist Dimension.

Here is the set as of now. I still need to UV most of the peices, and add some fauna, and misc. wear and tear. Any ideas are welcome.

You need more kinds of broken pillars but other than that, it looks very well made. Being that it's not a render I think it's hard to say more, but I'll definitely be checking this thread every time there's an update.

This should look absolutely stunning ! Bear in mind that I can use the large SI vines to weave roots through any gaps so there is that option available. We have plenty of vine models at our disposal but if you wanted a particular one moulded to the frame then this might prove useful too but that's up to you, really.
I would agree with Xae about the broken pillars. Certainly as regards the little rounded pillar shapes to the forefront of your previous pics, there could be more variety with them so that they're more like shards rather than neatly cut cylinders. This can help to create a small selection of rubble around the central pillars that roughly matches with the broken sections.
Finally, I'm going to check out the SI ruins this weekend and see how the models you created here can be incorporated with them into the Hist Shrine tileset. I'll post back soon on my observations but bear in mind that, if the models don't match too well then I may need ceiling and floor models....whether as independent sections or merged with the current ones I'm not sure but I'll need to consider things like the length of modding time (for adding floors and ceilings) and how such a merge will look effectively.

HOLY SHIT :pop:

Xaeaix: Yeah good call on the pillars. I was thinking of making ruined versions of each piece once I was done with the main set. But I do feel you here. We dont want this to get too repetitive, it being a maze and all.
IG: its good to hear we have plenty of fauna available to work with. Did you mean that you may need an interior set to go along with this? Either way, I am down to make whatever you need. It will just take a little time

If you can offer me the full tileset, SG then it would be an absolute delight! =)
The thing is, I like the SI ruins, so I was hoping there would be a way to somehow merge our own stuff with this. I still haven't had time today to check it out. I'm afraid I got sidetracked with doing some more landscaping for the Parchlands. I've almost finished with the Northern section but I want to get this out of the way before I get started on planning for Darkmoor.

@ sHAdowgAme -
If you use ceilings on an exterior ruin, the rain will go right through the ceiling. So keep ceilings for interiors only.
Also, I see one of the ruin pillars has what looks like metal poles sticking out of it....I don't think Blackmarsh's natives use such sophisticated building techniques. To use metal poles as support in the pillar, they'd have to pour cement into a mold where the poles are placed, then let it dry....blackmarsh is not conducive to "drying", metal deposits are mostly scarce, plus is won't make sense with the other ruin pieces that most likley were carved from solid stone. So if you can get rid of the metal poles in that one pillar, it'd make more sense ingame.
Otherwise, everything is looking fabulous!
I had a question and I forgot if I've read the answer somewhere from you before:
Do you also use 3DS/Blender modeling program? It's best to UVMap and texture the model in 3DS or Blender, then export from either of them as nif format, so that you make sure the UVMapping stays the same for ingame use.

I was thinking more in terms of either detachable ceilings or having a different set of models entirely (adapted from these ones) with ceilings attached.
I noticed the poles as well and thought they might have been vines of some sort....although KP makes a good point.
