Ships and Docks - Ibsen's Ghost - 08-06-2009

Do we have any info on Argonian ships and docks...? I'm not sure if Kukulza did anything like this. If so, then I may be able to ask mr_siika to do it. He said he may be able to help out and he's already released a flying ship and elven ships so I figured it might be the sort of thing he could do....

RE: Ships and Docks - Koniption - 08-06-2009

OOoooooh, I'm not sure. The closest thing that comes to my mind is that story that involves the character Scotti, and how he was on a raft with an Argonian who drove the raft by whipping his tail back and forth in the water to propel it forward.

So yeah, rafts are one form of transport they use....I don't know if there's anything more fancy than that mentioned, though. We'll probably have to invent some boat types for Argonians ourselves.

Sorry, this is a bit off-topic, but what about ridible animals?

- Ibsen's Ghost - 08-07-2009

We can get ridable Guar or ridable lizards from the Dune mod. It's not a problem for land travel... =)

Here are some mount what i have found, good for land travel!

Thanks for the links, Senten. I'll link up your post to the creatures section for future reference. Just for the record, I kind of liked the moss horse but it's sort of weird, isn't it? I mean, a mossy horse? And the UV mapping looks a little off so I think I'll give that one a miss. However, I'm a big fan of the Elytra. It's just a pity the textures are so complicated. You would have to be a texture genius to make a really good job of retexuring them so that they measure up to the original SI ones. Waalx made an awesome praying mantis but we'd have to rely on his resources in order to use it....pity!

Anyway, this discussion hasn't closed by any means but let's stick to the title of the thread nevertheless.

- Senten - 08-07-2009

Well, you can see im returned yeah. I can do the retexing for Elytra if you need.

Yeah, the moss horse looks weird..and the UV is also crap.

kukulza had plenty of ideas for boats etc. though I think me and konipton have done the two most notable (off the top of my head). There's a few more that may be of interest:

I believe Razorwing made a Dres Scuttler for ST, as there is a claim for Soluthis which is a Dres Scuttler.

I'm only pointing it out, not suggesting or promising anything.

Koniption's Dres Scuttler is currently docked in Soulrest Harbour. Go check it out. It looks exactly like KuKulZa's original concept art in the link that LR provided above. Likewise, LR developed the Argonian boat home. It, too, is spot-on!

What remains from those designs are the Dres Carrier, Dres Warship and Carrion Fruit Skiff. I don't feel these are high priorities right now but they'd certainly make for fine additions to the collection. I see the Dres ships coming in very useful for the a place such as Archon, particularly. The fruit skiff might appear more inland along the rivers.
