Room for an old school raspy Dunmer voice? - robertneville777 - 02-19-2010

Hey guys!

One thing that has me really pissed off in Oblivion is the gay voice the Dunmer (dark elf, I forgot) have. What happened to their cool raspy voice?

I was really impressed with whoever voiced the Dunmer guy in your Forgotten Garden teaser. He did really good!

I've got the male Dunmer voice down to where it almost sounds like you're back in Morrowind again, but before I come off as arrogant, I want ask if this is a good idea.

How about whoever is in charge off voice acting give me some lines to say, that would suit a male Dunmer? Hey, if I have to, I'll bust some Ordinator lines for ya! But anyway, if someone could give me a few male Dunmer sample lines, I'd love to show you guys the old voice back!

Thanks guys!

Some activity in the VA department! :bananarock:

Steve (SACarrow) will be pleased!

Any ideas for lines? I'll record some Ordinator lines, as those bad@sses have always been my favorite Wink

Great! Smile

Could you record the following lines:

  1. Hello I am Savtis. (GREETING)
  2. Go away! (GREETING, disp. <=45)
  3. The vineyard is owned by Vaniken R'i and I take care of the vines. (Topic Vineyard)
  4. It's a nice town and I am glad to work here. (Topic Soluthis)

It's for our vineyard worker, please change the text to your liking, NP.

Sweet! I'll get working on it! :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

Okay some samples! - robertneville777 - 02-20-2010

Here is the first! Instructional criticism is welcomed! Wink

Is there a way you can take the "wind" out? I try as mush as possible not to talk with it, but it's fricking hard! Is there a way to take it out/minimize it?

I'll post the others soon!

Thanks!

Ordinator Lines - robertneville777 - 02-20-2010

Here's some Ordinator lines that sound MEAN! YEEH!!! Tell me what you think!

You guys have a temple with Ordinators, right?!

- jucklesjenk - 02-20-2010

I know next to nothing about voice acting, but what the heck! I'll listen to 'em anyway!

I should get IG over here to have a listen as well. See what he says.

EDIT: One thing I've immediately noticed is your use of the word "outlander". Isn't that a term only used for non-Dunmer NPCs? In which case, you should record lines for a non-outlander as well.

And (this sounds really pedantic) it's 'Soluthis'. I think sandor just made a spelling error. It might be OK, though.

Hmmm...I thought they always called you "outlander" in Morrowind, even when you played as a Dunmer? I thought "Outlander" meant a non-native of Morrowind? (Well, how could you be if you are Dunmer, right?) But now that I think about it, you're probably right.

Okie-dokie then! If it's "Soluthis," I'll make sure to say it like that!

It is, when I typed the post I was in a hurry.
Sorry for the confusion.
