How about this:

Jolgeir isn't the innkeeper's real name. He used to run a big mead hall up in Winterhold. Years ago, he seduced Arterius' sister, and they had a child. However, he abandoned them to run away south with his current wife...

Arterius vowed revenge. Recently, he tracked him down to Steadhelm. So Arterius has plenty of reason to frame Jolgeir. But did he? Or is Jolgeir really guilty?
