Temple of Arkay, Soluthis [open for further discussion]
Here we will open up discussion for quests related to the Temple of Arkay located in Soluthis

Some info on The Arkay Pantheon

God of the Cycle of Birth and Death

Member of the Nine Divines pantheon, and popular elsewhere as well. Arkay is often more important in those cultures where his father, Akatosh, is either less related to time or where his time aspects are difficult to comprehend by the layman.

He is the god of burials and funeral rites, and is sometimes associated with the seasons.

His priests are staunch opponents of necromancy and all forms of the undead.

It is said that Arkay did not exist before the world was created by the gods under Lorkhan's supervision/urging/trickery.

Therefore, he is sometimes called the Mortals' God.

Blessing: Health

Temple quests should come with increasing difficulty as the member rises in level and recognition, and should(but not necessarily) be related to the Dieties Sphere of Influence.

General item to discuss is:

1)How many quests we would lke to have ?

Enjoy

I think that this could make out a quest line of about 10 quests.
a suggestion of quest I can think of, that might fit is this:

You are told by a 'monk' (or what they are) that they have trapped an undead, and now they want to releace the spirit. But for that they need some special things, and they don't have the time to get them as they have to guard the undead. you get a list of things they need, and then you must get them. When you get back, the temple seems empty but when you wander deeper in to the back rooms, where they keept the undead, you find all the munks in the cell, locked in.
They tell you that you have to let them out, so that they can do the thing they wanted the things for. At the same time they tell you that it seemed like some nercromansers came in pretending that they were going to pray. but they suprised the monks and paralyzed them and then they searched the temple for the undead, which is a powerful lich, and freed it and put the monks in the cell instead.
And just before the necromansers were about to leave, they heard one of them saying 'lest get back to (location)' and then hearing another cursing at him for saying there hidout out aloud, but they didn't think that the monks had heard, but they had.
when the chat with the monks are over, they give you a potion that you can use to poison any of your weapons so it has the same power like 'The Rose of Sithis' that it will kill the lich that it was intended for imediatly. And by happening, one of the monks know where the location is, and marks it on your map.

now all you have to do is to go there and kill the necromansers and from every necromanser you have to take a finger back to the monks so that they can do a ritual so that no other necromanser can use there bodies to practice on. And when you find the lich, you will have to kill it and releace it's spirit, and you will have to take the lichs (what is it called, it is bonesomething) too, and back at the temple you will have to give it to the monks so that they can make a burial and seal the bone remains from being infested with and evil spirit again.

Could this be something? or is it way out of what you thought?

Maybe you could get an enchanted weapon out of it? Who better to guard the trapped soul of a lich than the warrior that killed it.

Here's an idea for the effects. Because they changed the state of the soul (free to trapped) the properties inherent to that soul were flipped. Liches are usually frost-immune, and cast spells, but when you reverse the soul (and enchant something) the enchanted object will do fire damage and cast silence. Thus a sort of anti-lich.

mayby the monks are talking in riddles, ad you have to think hard to understand where the location they have heard about is. Or the necromancers talked in som "snake language" or something, and talk in very strange ways. like in riddles.

I just like when you have to think, and not jsut "follow the red arrow"

Very good

10 is a nice round number we will go with that

I assume we are going to follow this rank structure

Layman
Novice
Initiate
Acolyte
Adept
Disciple
Oracle
Invoker
Theurgist
Primate

******************************
Trankintor:
Your idea fits, I think we can mold this easily and fit it in as one of the quests for a mid ranked member :goodjob:
******************************
Do you all think it necessary to open a seperate discussion for each quest
posting the ideas here in this one and then once we accept the idea move it into a seperate post for detailing

me thinks
enjoy

Good idea. Smile

We could use the Vampire Quest with the Steadhelm Priest, as well.
What do you think?

Yeah, that would be good, but then we need to have it like the Morag Tong section, if we can have one like that.

I have a question: Are the Arkay temple members monks or priests/priestesses?

Monks tend to live a somewhat isolated life. Whereas priests and priestesses interact more with their congregation: perform sermons, preside over weddings, funerals, and such.

What's their level of involvment with the community?
Does the Temple have both - monks and priests?

At the moment there's one priest and two monks.

I attached a screenie of the priest (Ures Sarothril), he's the quest giver.
