Re-Structure

Re-Structure
I think we should take some time to re-structure the dumac thread and re-structure the workings within the mod, like the claims, the jobs on offer, maybe make them the claims instead.

What do you think?

Might be a good Idea to do that. Give more visability, I for one have no idea what we are currently waiting on, I have a book to write and ideas for the quests are still in my head, but as far as everyone else I do not know

Assets, Interior, Exterior, Syth machine. All kinds. Best if you wrote the ideas down, maybe a main quest thread where we can discuss it and flesh it out, would be nice.

Yeah, this place really needs a restructure. Maybe we should also put an info post, telling people what exactly it is we're doing here?

But i think if possible we should have it like this:

Main Dumac Forum
- Info Thread
- Other stickied threads/announcements
- Main Quest thread

Dumac Claims subforum
- Maybe we could break it down further?
- Interior Models
- Thread for every model/model group for the inside
- Exterior Models
- Thread for all the exterior models
- Levels
- Break it down, level by level. Once all the levels are done, we'll do the mainquest, and maybe other misc quests

Here's the only problem - models and stuff usually go in the Visual Dev forum, and we do have to share these with Vvardenfell. We'd have to ask razorwing what he thinks, but i think we should just make an exception, and give let dumac have its own claims, on our own forums.

we do need more assets than usual.

I agree though we share the visual development so we don't need that but that there is a sound re-structure. :goodjob:

See the confusing thing is that having all our assets developed in the ST/Vv forum makes it much less decentralized. We personally would not be able to set up claims, and we would have to search around to figure out what our assets were.

If we had a separate models forum on Dumac, we could much more clearly organize what was needed. Prehaps set up individual claims for models, or just have a thread for each model group, ie: have a thread for furniture, a thread for misc, a thread for exteriors, a thread for new models, ect.

I'm a person who likes knowing what's going on, and how far along we are without having to search. If you don't think it's neccessary, then we can use the ST/Vv visual dev.

I'd say take what parts of the restructure you think are good, and send them to Razorwing, cause i belive he's the one with the power to do all that stuff (at least I don't think i can make subforums ConfusedhrugSmile Visual dev is your call for now, but it'll also have to be approved by Razorwing, so again, if you don't think it's needed, just ignore it

When you say it like that it makes perfect sense to me. We should actually have our own dev thread, but since this is part of Silgrad, Razorwing may not see it that way. So send him the full structure anyway and see what he says about it. We as moderators cannot set this up like we want.

This is what Razorwing said about the re-structure

Quote:Hi InsanitySorrow.

I think it would be over the top to have so many forum boards for Dumac. I suppose there could be one discussion board and one claims board if you think there'll be a lot of claims offered up?

I understand there are special model considerations since we've never had any Dwemer stuff in our mod before, but then again by that logic one could say that there are special model considerations for Silgrad City because we had never had Hlaalu stuff in the mod before. I hope the whole mod can use the visual development board for model-related stuff, the quest board for quest-related stuff, and so on

Otherwise a good way to organize things could be to have a single sticky thread that gets updated frequently and has all the important information and links to forum threads. That way the visitor gets a digested article with all the facts you guys thinks he should know, and from that article you can funnel him to the important discussions.

SO I think a sticky would be in order.

Ehh, seems like a good way to organize it, with stickies and all. Thought he'd say that about the models, but it was worth a try. Hopefully the models will be done soon, but i still feel like none of the small things are getting done, prehaps simply because nobody has information on them, or because they aren't interested, or can't find them.
