Video tutorial - How to make perfect uvw maps

This video tutorial shows how to quickly create technically perfect uvw maps by using the TurboUnwrap scripts for 3D Studio Max. After you install the scripts you access TurboUnwrap by adding a Unwrap UVW modifier to your mesh, as the scripts take over that function of the program.

The jist of the process is to flatten the mapping in TurboUnwrap and then force the vertices of the map to cover the whole template. This will result in the texture being displayed perfectly across the mesh, though as you can see in the video you need to finetune it with an UVW Xform modifier. You can finetune it directly in TurboUnwrap too, the Xform just makes it quicker in my opinion.

There's a few other things about TurboUnwrap that this tutorial doesn't cover, but they're rather straightforward after you learn the basics.

My pet peeve: huge images in img code. I reserve the right to make any such image into a clickeable thumbnail whenever I see it.
