Stormhold - Missing Missionary (Open)
A little quest to get the player exploring the Marsh:

Mystery of the Missing Missionary

In the city of Stormhold's Chapter House, the basement is home to a Knight Errant who explains he's been living there since he was bitten out in the Marshes some months ago. He nearly died, but is on the mend and wants to find out what happened to his friend and fellow Knight, who left the Chapterhouse to escort a new missionary from Cyrodiil while he was in a coma. He hasn't come back.

He tells the player to start making enquiries around the village of Phomolo, where his friend was last sighted.

When the player makes it to Phomolo, they will need to get to know the villagers before they will talk openly with you. They say the missionary and his guard came here but they did not stay long. If you are allowed to see the Shaman, he explains that missionaries of the Nine are not welcome in the village. He thinks they may have gone south into the Everglades.

The player eventually wanders through the Everglades until they find an Argonian in Go-Ja-Morgoa who remembers a sick "soft-skin" being brought in a few weeks ago.

The player finds the Knight in one of the huts, in even worse shape than his friend back in Stormhold. He is being cared for by a local argonian, but does not know what happened to the missionary he was escorting. He says that the inexperienced young imperial decided to try to do what nobody had tried before and convert some of the Naga, despite the Knight's advice to the contrary. They were separated and he fears the missionary is dead. He asks the player to find out what happened.

The player can now go back to Stormhold and tell the Knight Errant that his friend is safe. The Prelate comes in and promises to send porters to bring his comrade back as soon as possible. He also promises the player a cash reward to bring back proof of the missionary's death, and an even bigger reward if he can be brought back alive.

The player heads to where the missionary was last sighted and searches for the hidden entrance to the Naga's cave lair. Depending on how stealthily the player sneaks through the cave and takes out the Naga, the missionary will either be alive or have already been eaten when they reach the bottom. The player then either needs to escort him back or take his medallion back to Stormhold.

So a quest that gets the player exploring and talking to the locals, plus some thief-style sneaking in the rescue mission at the end. Thoughts?

sounds good, though you could probably flesh the quest out abit, if the player had to do a small task for the pholmolo shaman before he would give them any info, and afterwards the player would find the whole village more open/friendly?

Agreed. That was always going to be a necessary measure in order to speak to anyone in Pholmolo because they are amongst the most extremist tribal Argonians and they're especially paranoid of the threat they face from the Trillium Magnata.

Although the Trillium Magnata quests are intended to be separate, there could be some dealings in Tenmar Wall that lead to the PC's earning of the Pholmolo's natives' trust.

I believe that this quest may have promise, and unless anyone objects I am going to develop it further into a proper quest claim. Thoughts?

Agreed. :check:

A TG quest or Stormhold quest? It's your call, depending on the direction you wish to take with it. Either way, please rename the title as demonstrated by adding "Stormhold - " to the title or by shifting it into the TG thread.

I'm not really sure how it would fit into the TG (don't you mean FG?) I'm naming it Stormhold for now.

There's a stealthy part towards the end of your original description. However, it may be best to keep the possibilities open so that it can be completed by whichever means the PC prefers. Hence, it's been defined as a Stormhold city quest.

That makes a lot of sense. I've recently played a lot of Fallout 3, and I really liked the open-ended quests they had in that game, which offered different paths depending on your skill set (for example, there's quests where you need to find a computer password, but if you character is good enough at hacking you can just access it yourself without having to go through all the trouble of finding it).
