High Rock Release Plan, Prior to TES V [Updated]
1) Release Internal Alpha January 12th, region gen will be completed, and will feature all the exterior work done so far.

2) March 8th, Beta/Second Alpha will be released, with as much of the exteriors finished as possible. Quest modding will begin.

3) Subsequent releases will feature more quests, more exteriors, interiors, and so forth. We'll make a full release with all that we've done so far, prior to TES V being released (in whatever state it's in).
After which are attention will turn towards the rest of the BC projects, and the High Rock boards will be archived.

Cheers,
TOYB

High Rock Release Plan v1.0

28/12/10

Project Objectives

The original objective of the project was to recreate the whole of High Rock province as described in TES lore, primarily through the depiction of the southern part of High Rock that was shown in TES2, but also through references in books throughout the other games in the series. The project was to include every major city and several of the more important small towns, represented by small villages of varying sizes in order to match Cyrodiil's scale exactly.

Current Status

The landmass has been completed and fully generated except for some regions around the border areas of Skyrim and Hammerfell. The two major cities of Camlorn and Wayrest are essentially completed, minus some cluttering and fine detail, and the major cities of Jehanna and Shornhelm lack only upper class and castle models. A broad archive of models for constructing the remaining cities has been assembled.

Revised Release Plan

Due to the very small number of modders available who are not involved in other projects, we have recently decided to revise the scope of the project. We will now concentrate on exteriors only. Our aim is to produce playable cities which are detailed and interesting to walk around in, complete with NPCs which will "sleep" in dummy cells which are locked to the player. Services will be supplied mostly through open street markets. There will be a single, highly detailed main quest centred around Orsinium which will see the player travel to all parts of High Rock. Much as in the original TES2, interiors will only be added if they are necessary for the quests. Also, whilst dungeon exteriors will be created in the countryside, only those essential to the quest will be filled. We believe that this change of objectives will sufficiently reduce the time frame needed to complete the mod that we will be able to complete it before TES5 is released.

Release Timeline

1. Internal Release Alpha 1.0

- Provisional Deadline: 12/01/11
- Will feature completed region generation, with fine landscaping begun but many areas still needing to be optimised. Otherwise, it will include:
- Completed exteriors for Wayrest and Camlorn cities, and several minor towns/villages
- Complete resource archive for future construction, minus remaining new meshes which still need to be finished

2. Internal Release Alpha 2.0

- Provisional Deadline: 08/03/11
- Fully completed exteriors for Wayrest, Camlorn, Daggerfall, Shornhelm and Jehanna
- As many minor town exteriors completed as time allows
- Substantial progress on completing remaining new models. Farrun will be prioritised over the remaining cities.

3. Beta Release 1.0

- Provisional Deadline: TBA (estimated summer 2011)
- Ideally, should feature completed exteriors for all the major cities
- Otherwise, cities will be prioritised for completion in the order: Farrun, Northpoint, Evermore, Orsinium

4. Final Release

Immediately before the release of TESV, High Rock will be terminated in whatever state of completion it has reached by that time.
