Reich Parkeep
[title]? What is Reich Parkeep?[/title]

It is the name of a city, but the term is also used for the region where it lies. In turn, the region is a part of the Silgrad Tower mod. More information about how it hangs together can be gotten on the project hub page.

[title]? Tell me about Reich Parkeep as a mod.[/title]

The mod is part of a larger collaborative effort with the goal of recreating a large chunk of the Morrowind Province for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Fueling the effort in many cases is a love of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, which took place on an island called Vvardenfell located in this Province. Three of these mods form a chain along the Province's western mainland; from north to south they are Blacklight, Reich Parkeep, and Silgrad Tower. The affiliated TES4: Vvardenfell mod on the other hand aims to bring back the island itself. More information can be gleaned from Bethesda's Morrowind concept map, which is one of the best ones we have to go by. The town marked Soluthis on that map corresponds to Reich Parkeep. The idea at the moment is to combine both names, with Reich Parkeep being the name for the Imperial district of the town and Soluthis the name for the Redoran district.

As the mainland mods grow, they'll eventually line up at the seams, allowing the player to move seamlessly through our part of Morrowind.

[title]? Tell me about Reich Parkeep as a town.[/title]

Originally the town was a quiet, peaceful Redoran settlement like many others in the region, characterized by two large hills to the north and south part of town. When the Empire invaded Morrowind roughly four hundred years ago they erected forts and other stronghold around the Province to quell any uprisings, as did they in Soluthis. Unlike with other towns, however, the fort wasn't placed in the outback - it was built right smack in town with a keep on either hill (hence: par-keep), with a connecting bridge inbetween. Initially the strategy proved successful in subjugating the native population, but as time wore on the intense presence of the Imperials stirred up annoyance with the Dunmer. The annoyance turned to anger, and eventually hatred. The tension has been surprisingly alleviated lately as the Imperial legion pulled out due to the situation in Cyrodiil, leaving the town in Dunmer control. There's still Imperial citizens around, who weren't about to just give up their houses and lives that easily, but the dominance has swung in favor of House Redoran. For expanded details of the town (albeit written for the TES III mod) please refer to Guide to Reich Parkeep. There is also a concept thread for the Oblivion version of the town, where we discuss what we want it to be like.

The region is a slice of the Morrowind Province's western mainland, bordering the Blacklight region to the north and the Silgrad Tower region to the south. Apart from the town itself there are four major locations in the region;

Reich Parkeep and surrounding area will be organized and administrated by Razorwing.
