POLL: Ordinators OR Armigers: if we had to make 1 unjoinable - KuKulzA - 02-13-2006 this decision had already been decided upon, though both factions would exist, neither would be joinable until the 2nd main quest dealing with the last days of the Tribunal Temple faith and the most recent 6th House uprising but I don't mind continued discussion [/hr] due to the enormous number of factions existing on Vvardenfell... we need to start cutting down a bit... so... hypothetically... we might need to look to see which one to drop.... now the issue for THIS one is Buoyant Armigers vs. Ordinators the Ordinators seem purely Dunmer.... I doubt nonDunmer can be Ordinators... that would be wierd the Buoyant Armigers DO welcome outlanders that submit to the ways of Vivec.... but rarely The Buoyant Armigers are more chivalrous and there are like Dunmer knights and bards, they killl evil creatures, quest against impossible odds, emulate Vivec, and wear light armor.... The Ordinators keep a firm hold on the populance and Temple... they are warriors, guards, scholars, and inquisitors... they wear sacred heavy armor... and have special priviledges in society... less free, but the organization is more powerful... now, if we were to drop one of them as a joinable faction... which do you guys think it should be? Ordinators? OR Buoyant Armigers? ...and why? (please give good reason) RE: POLL: Ordinators OR Armigers: if we had to make 1 unjoinable - EnnJ - 02-13-2006 Ordinators, and why? I don't think they would accept an outlander into the ranks. RE: POLL: Ordinators OR Armigers: if we had to make 1 unjoinable - KuKulzA - 02-13-2006 Quote:Originally posted by EnnJgood point... of course they offer a wider range of quests and occupations... but true... not good for nonDunmer - Lady Nerevar - 02-13-2006 the Armigers werent even a faction in MW, and were barley mentioned. makes little cense to me to include a group as a faction that wasent a faction in MW. teh ordinators weretn a faction either, but they seem to have more material. if it were up to me, id not make iether of these faction joinable, but its not up to me.... RE: POLL: Ordinators OR Armigers: if we had to make 1 unjoinable - EnnJ - 02-13-2006 Quote:Originally posted by KuKulzA Are you sure about that? If you would be able to play a Ordinator you would probably be able to have guard-duties and such, but that doesn't mean that the Armigers doesn't need guards. You can have patrol missions, you can have a quest where a Armiger have been murdered and you will have to find out who's the murderer. Also you will probably be able to wage a full-scale war against the remaining of House Dagoth. There's a lot which can be made and the options are endless. The only limit is our own imagination. - Ixidors Bane - 02-13-2006 I'm voting to drop the Ordinators as a joinable faction. The reasoning is like EnnJ said, they wouldn't let any outlander join, especially one that is non-Dumner. Have the quests for the Armigers take up the slack for the dropping of the Ordinator. RE: POLL: Ordinators OR Armigers: if we had to make 1 unjoinable - Lady Nerevar - 02-13-2006 Quote:Originally posted by EnnJ and time, and resources, among many, many, other things. RE: POLL: Ordinators OR Armigers: if we had to make 1 unjoinable - EnnJ - 02-13-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Lady Nerevar True, but we can do the best out of the situasion. - KuKulzA - 02-13-2006 well, Buoyant Armigers and Ordinators.... were they a class in Morrowind or a faction? whatever the case, we are discussing the factionizing.... I do intend to have a title of "Ordinator" or "Buoyant Armiger" with the NPCs that ARE of those factions.... but playability-wise... they might not be the best.... what do you think would be better though? a knightly, adventurer's faction? or a secret police/warrior faction? or should we drop both? - Vrenir - 02-13-2006 I obviously voted to drop the Armigers, and just to reiterate my points, this is why. 1) The Ordinators generally have more material about them I think, more roles, and a more fearsome reputation among the Dunmer. If you have an Ordinator after you, you'd better run for your life! If you have an Armiger after you, what does that mean? 2) The Ordinators in TESIII seem to have made a bigger impression on players, so it makes sense to make the more popular group joinable. 3) The Ordinators have awesome armor that modders have come up with a ton of excuses to allow TESIII players to wear. Why not give a legit one in ours? The Armigers on the other hand, have no original armor. 4) It is true that the Armigers would be easier to up and join, but I think that extenuating circumstances could be arranged to allow the PC to become an Ordinator, especially if the Temple is suffering from a fall in popularity and recruits. |
