Just searching for those pics of Rimmen - will post them here
Secret entrance thread
There were more, andthis is a bit of a dry showing.
Maybe your badlands and Savannah will get people into the groove re the environment more smoothly

Guess what!
Orcrest, will probably take a tad longer than I anticipated. You weren't kidding when you said that it's a BIG city Ja-Kha'jay.
Also, I have to draw it in segments. That darn "objects fading out a little too soon in CS" aspect of things makes this slighty tricky. Nevertheless, it shall be a challenge and a good one at that! Also, I plan on having a little fun exploring the area on the ground level.

yeah yeah, it's a double post but I'm in a bit of a crabby mood due to recent developments.
Due to the fact that my monitor is only 19 inches, I can't run both the CS and Photoshop at the same time with window sizes that I'm actually able to work in. So, drawing the Orcrest map is pretty much going to have to wait until I can manage to find a second video card so I can hook up a second monitor.
It's times like these I hate having the only computer in my house that doesn't use a video card that integrated into the motherboard.
Now, if you'll all excuse me, I'm going to go take my frustrations out on my mattress.

Even with the render window stretched to fill the whole CS window?
- Captain - 04-22-2008
Can you stretch the render window, take a screenshot, and put it as a transparent layer in Photoshop to give you a nice reference of how it looks?

well, the main issue was that I couldn't get enough of the buildings to show up at the distance I wanted, but I'm gonna be searching for some graph paper and try it out by drawing the landscape and walls first then adding in the buildings. Afterwards I'll scan it in and work from there.
The main frustration was that there is never anything I need in my house when I need it. It's so bad that I'm convinced that gremlins and other troublesome things are messing with me.
Anywho, if I manage to find graph paper I'll start working on it tonight, otherwise it will have to wait until thursday night because tomorrow I'll be away from my pc for a couple days.
EDIT: How in the world can I be in the same house as two engineers and there isn't any graph paper?
EDIT 2: I should have some graph paper later today and then I'll be able to start doodling Orcrest tonight. On a completely unrelated note, I apparently have machismo and Sangria is quite tasty.

Well, more wonderful news concerning the Orcrest map. (/sarcasm)
Apparently I am going to have to wait until Monday evening now until I have the stuff I need to start drawing for the map. It sucks that I've had to go this long without having anything to show you all for your lovely input.
EDIT: I'm actually going to get to work on the Orcrest map tonight! I should have something to at least show (I'm guessing maybe a scan of the walls and general shape of the land) by roughly.... I dunno, lets go with 6am GMT.

oh noes triple post. meh, 5 days in between them ain't that bad though.
I did some work on the Orcrest map but at the moment it's just an overhead graph paper drawing to get the layout down. I've got most of the landscaping and the walls drawn out, a few buildings as well. I won't be able to work on it for the next couple days because I've been beckoned away from my computer and art supplies to work in a print shop helping the people there finish up some huge orders of shirts.
Once I get back I'll try and transfer it to a more isometric view.
