That is what I wanted, the text just annoyed me so I messed around with some styles and found one that looks good
, With the style of the text and the effect placed on it I think emboldening may not be quite right, instead I placed the text on seperate lines and made it bigger so its more visable.Once a normal map has been made and its in-game it should look good, I will make a normal map and test in-game soon.

Here is an in-game shot, since I took the shot I have double the resolution of the image to increase the quality and sharpened it a little more, now I just need to fix the Imperial one

here is an example. the top text looks obviously photoshoped because of its clear contours and solid color. the bottom is the same text on the same background - the only difference is that the text has a "overlay" blending applied, so it shows some of the texture underneath. that way it looks like its actually painted on and worn. what sort of blending works best varies (i picked one randomly, this could have been done better). Right clicking the layer and selecting "blending options" takes you to a screen where you can customize everything and get it perfect.
i think you already knew that, but maybe someone else will find it helpful

Btw, what font style are you using in that demo picture?

, another question for you:After you apply the overlay blending, how do you go about darkening the text?.
I have been re-making my imperial sign to look like the vanilla OB signs [Mostly seen in the IC] and when I use the overlay the text lightens up far too much becuase of the background image.
I am wondering how this can be changed :eek:

depends on the original color you use, you can try using a darker color. you can also try duplicating the layer to double the darkness (on the second either leave the blending, change it something else, or leave it normal with transparency). alternatively try a different blending. OR, maybe try changing the settings in the Blending Options. depends on what sort of effect you want to achieve, just play with it

The sign looks great in-game....doesn't fit with the Imperial bridge though but then it will look a lot better in our towns and cities... =)...the other one is coming along fine too...

Thanks IG, yeah the Imperial bridge is just where I was testing, its my new testing area
The other one maybe darkend and changed, I kinda want it to feel like a Vanilla sign but have some changes due to the marsh, the text is the current issue.
