I believe that the Astronach Cult is one of KuKulzA's babies, originally the Main Quest for this mod before the House War took over to differentiate our story from Oblivion's. It's since been readapted to fill a smaller, but important role of its own in our mod.

Thats true. Having all the same gate shutting quest all expanded lands would make it in my opinion to world feel smaller and repetitive.
Realistic or not, personally as player i would prefer Cyrodiil be the main thing with oblivion gates with its mainquest, while wandering to whole new land would and should give whole new perspective to look happenings. I'd like to walk over the border with something else in mind than more oblivion gates. I think expanded lands are the chance to do something more innovative and different quests, yet maintaining TES lore.
I think its like old rpg with few dices and instructions, where they had "gamemaster" (kind of a storyteller who led the game and how it advances), now he could follow some already written plot or come out differently with his own tale (yet by the games rules). Now bethesda has that already written story but we can make unique storylines within borders of TES lore. What a damn bad example that was :lmao: nevertheless i think its unique to mod this much different lands in and gives loads of more options than just running after oblivion gates, dont you think? :yes:

Hmm... but the Mythic Dawn cult wanted to destroy all of Tamriel and remake it to their liking. And it'd be remade all as Ayleid, as the leader of the cult (Mankar Camoran) is part of a lineage of Ayleid kings (Camoran dynasty) and the structures in his Paradise are non-weathered Ayleid buildings (with a mix of Oblivion in the caverns).
Also, I don't think Ald'Ruhn being destroyed would be extremely bad for our plans... House Redoran has changed capitals many times, they're used to it.
