- sandor - 06-05-2006 Quote:Originally posted by DagothenI agree with the latter. It's allowed to use rare items but they should be well protected. Look at the advise given to Nerbod (rpc26) concerning his "glass" collection. Glass items/ armor Rpc26 The chair, I'll explain in the next review (your next uploaded file). I would wait with connecting everything to the exterior, till the end (finish decorating). Make a backup of your interior (to be sure), before you do. The prison will be in the castle (HeIsTheDarkness). The idea for the guard sounds good. The story line could be that you pay the Baron for hiring one of the guards. Regs. - Dagothen - 06-05-2006 Ok sorry i didn't get on 'till now, I'v been in hospital. Believe it or not stepping on glass aint good for ya!!! Anyhow just going out then wil get some work done later. - Razorwing - 06-05-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Dagothen I agree with sandor. It's generally best to stay away from items that Bethesda only use once or not at all. Other than that, the value of the loot to the player - be it it's worth in gold, or it's abilities - should be on par with how difficult it is for the player to obtain it, coupled with whether it makes sense for the NPC to be in possession of it or not. Recently I read up on how to create a working prison system. Like sandor said it'll be housed in the castle, and the only thing I could do was to set up the prison marker door the player will be teleported to after he's been fined or imprisoned. Once it's set up, any normal guard in town will be able to use the system, and I imagine we'll either write special dialogue that's spoken by all our guards or use the ordinary dialogue from the main game. So, as far as I can tell, it should work if you just make him similar to the ones in the alpha. Have you made your plugin dependant on the .esm? If not, please go ahead and do that, and make your guard belong to the RP guard faction. Oh, and please also go ahead and set up a patrol route for him in the town exterior. Sorry to hear about your foot. I had a similar encounter when I was in my late teens, as I knelt down on my knee on a window frame which had broken bits of glass sticking out of it, and rested my whole weight on it. I didn't notice it at first, and hopped on bicycle and rode off, which wasn't very good for the gash on my kneecap. It took five stitches and one week of permanently keeping my leg stretched out, but then I was good as new again. I would have regretted it, had it not made a nice anecdote for my future grandchildren ![]() - Dagothen - 06-05-2006 Ok, Razorwing will do, I'll post my update tomorrow as that seems best. I shall also go through all my enchanted items and check the "use info" for them. Catch you tomorrow. Regs. Dagothen - Razorwing - 06-05-2006 Quote:Originally posted by Dagothen Perfect, thanks! :goodjob: - Dagothen - 06-06-2006 Ok heres an update I have reviewed the items, and replace a handful of stuff. I have also started working on the AI Grarln seems fine, he's not a guard yet but he goes to bed and then wakes up and goes to his post. Armen just goes to bed and never wakes up but I'll work on that, I'll just have to set him to go to the counter to sell when bed time's over. Let me know what you think of the slightly changed clutter. I'll continue Regs. Dagothen - sandor - 06-06-2006 I hope all is well, after your encounter with "glass". I just downloaded your file. I'll reply later today. - Dagothen - 06-07-2006 Yeah!! As soon as they removed it from my foot I was much better!! Anyhow on to decribing my clutter decisions. I decide to leave a couple of high end items including a glass cuirass (sp?) as it is logical for an adventurer who scours the lands loking for equipment to sell to have some high end stuff. The basement will have more clutter in it soon and I intend to leave the current high end items in there and top up the clutter level with low end stuff. I have made so to get into the basement a key is required and only the two NPCs have a key. Although I might just make the lock 'Very Hard' as I believe making a key required is a bit too limiting for a open game like this. Let me know what you think on this subject. Regarding the Xmarker. Can I have more than one? I want to put a second one behind the counter so I can tell Armen to stand there when he is open for business. I already have one in the cell that tells Grarln where his post is. I have set Graln to travel to his post a 5am when he wakes up. He walks to his post (XMarker) but stands facing the wall. How can I tell him to turn around and face into the store like he should? (This will also be useful to know for when I tell Armen to move to the counter. Let me know. Regs. Dagothen - sandor - 06-07-2006 Good to hear it's going better  . The chair or bed. Look at the screenshot of the bed. It's still floating after pressing "F" once. Because of the silhouettes the CS thinks the bed (or chair) is already neatly on the floor. That's not true. So, you have to press once (sometimes twice) "F" again. This applies for all the furniture with a silhouette. Quote:Originally posted by Dagothen Because there is no other package, nothing of a higher priority (for example wander) will occur, so he doesn't wake up. Quote:Originally posted by DagothenI agree, only it should be difficult to steal these objects. Put most of the high value stuff in the basement (storage), except for a few on the groundfloor. Lock the basement with the key. Make sure that, as the shop closes, the entrance door is also locked with a key. This because of the valuable loot, inside this interior. To make it more interesting. If Grarln goes downstairs, for example two times a day to have a bite to eat, you can leave the basement unlocked. When he goes upstairs again, lock the basement. If the PC wants to steal objects he has to kill the NPC's or steal the key. The other way is to follow Grarln downstairs and try to steal something while he's eating or try to steal it upstairs as Grarln is away. Sure, you can use another X-marker, you can also use an object (persistent reference). It's difficult for me to keep track of all the (minor) changes, concerning floaters etc. To make things more clear regarding the reviewing of floaters etc. please let me know when you think a room or part of the interior is (almost) ready. Then I'll give it a thorough check. TIA ![]() Questions are always welcome and I'll try to answer these as quick as possible. Regs. - Dagothen - 06-07-2006 OK, I'll get some more work done.
