[WIP] Chieftain's Swamp Hut - llamaranger - 06-04-2007
Just so I don't clog up the Concept Art thread.
Here's the most recent rneder of the model. It's nearing completion (the only thing textured atm is the bamboo canes at the base)

Floor looks highpoly but it looks good
- llamaranger - 06-05-2007
the floor is one of the more high-poly bits, though its not too bad, but a lot of it can be deleted at the end as it won't be visible. Either way, it shouldn't be any more than some of the current oblivion models, I doubt it will cause problems. The reason I did was because I thought it would be really cool to work the lumps into the collision mesh as well so the player moves up and down with the planks.
And yes Ku, I need to get the planks on correctly first though and do the tower bit.. And work out how to do those stairs ![Tongue Tongue](https://www.silgradmodding.net/forum/images/smilies/tongue.png)

UPDATE!

Yarr. Not a great deal more done, but I spent a lot of time refining things to lower the poly count on stuff like the wooden planks, which originally had multitires applied which makes the ends nice and smooth but ups the poly count somewhat, removed it when I realised the ends wouldn't be visible anyway ![Tongue Tongue](https://www.silgradmodding.net/forum/images/smilies/tongue.png)
A note on the curved beams, thats about as smooth as I can get them without the polycount being ridiculous (got them perfectly circular for about 10 seconds then my computer died ) Perhaps it could be textured to look roughly cut?
Redid the base for easier texturing and to be truer to the concept art.
Hope you like ![Smile Smile](https://www.silgradmodding.net/forum/images/smilies/smile.png)

With some smoothinggroup and a nice normalmap that should be fixed It's very round. And for UV mapping I pray to the gods you don't do that by hand At least no in max. Anyway those arcs should easily be fixed with texturing.

it looks great so far llamaranger... I always intend the frame of the hut to be made of strong young (larger) saplings and (smaller) trees so they will be smoother anyhow, not very very rough

Any improvements you want? say em now before I start with textures, as this is pretty much complete model wise.
