My little city of Riverhold - Iliana - 08-06-2008
Hi there! I'm new here, but a couple of members invited me to join after I posted a preview of my Khajiit City of Riverhold mod on the Bethesda Forums.

I would be happy to add the town to the Elsweyr project. At the moment its lodged in the Tamriel worldspace, across the border from Bravil.
If anyone wants to have a run around the city I can upload the unfinished version somewhere.
There is still a bit of work to do with interiors and NPCs but alot of the city is already up and running.

Welcome! And thanks very much for helping with the project!

Welcome! Thanks for accepting our invite.
You city will add a lot in terms of playable content.
To make your city in the Elswweyr worldspace, just download the Alpha 3.0, or wait a bit until JKJ finishes the update and just download 3.1. And use the ElsweyrValenwood.esm as master+Oblivion.esm. The worldspace is named TESAnnwyn. There is already a map marker and a cell named for Riverhold, so it's easy to find.
I don't know how you're going to move the city, perhaps copy and paste?

Looks awesome! Are those custom models? they look quite bravil esque, but you've arranged them in a way that looks custom, so kudos to you
Don't forget to throw in some of our unique clutter while you're at makin the town

Thanks. I'm not skilled enough to create new textures so have only used the stock ones. But I've tried to use them with a bit originality,
You can download an alpha version of the city here, if you want to have a look around :

I'm not sure how to transfer it to the Elsweyr world space. I know there is some trick to export and import height map data, but I've no idea how thats done.
Transfering the objects across though should be pretty easy.

All I know is using RAW files, but that's for whole quads. Perhaps you can try modeling the landscape yourself, using the buildings positions as guidelines.
Fo RAW files, you have to export the area you want using the HeightmapEditor->File-> Export. Then do File->Import for the Elsweyr worldspace, though it might mess up those four quads.
Perhaps someone else can help you better. I never really tried it.

i can move the city from Tamriel to TESAnnwyn. I had to move Rimmen from another Worldspace, its a major pain in the bum, and you'll lose all landscape texturing, but it can be done, i'll sift through the forums to find the instructions for copying such things.
Will have a runaround tonight to determine the city size and whether or not it needs to be expanded, as our cities are reasonable large.
BTW Welcome to Elsweyr! :bananarock: :bananarock:

Can I have a copy of both plugins? My very latest version of TES4Gecko supports primitive worldspace cloning. It's possible that that feature may reduce the pain factor here, but I'd want to test it first on real stuff. My tests so far are with toy workspaces.
HTH,
Steve

Thanks. Please do give it a try. The landscape texturing shouldn't be to hard to replicate by hand myself.
There is plenty of room for the city to be expanded further up the mountainside. Naturally it looks smaller as well since the cave den houses only have small hut-like entrances. The addition of the Queen's castle will also enlarge the place, and a religious shrine of some sort would be appropriate for higher up the mountain-top.
If you are having a look around the signature cave den is the N'drissi one, which I've custom furnished to a greater degree than the others so far.
But so far I've painted the town and interiors with broad brush strokes and will fill in all the little custom details afterwards, like special items from yourElsweyr Confederacy collection.
I've named the queen Naghea IV, after the earlier Queen Naghea of Riverhold mentioned in the 2920 books. I've assumed its an autonomous city-state which pays tribute to the Mane.
BTW Do you have meshes for the other Khajiit types? I've thrown a few Alfiq around the town (shrunk-down mountain lions), but for the rest, so many of one type of Khajiit looks a bit mundane after a while. It gets harder and harder to individualise them. The ones I've included so far though mostly have little back-stories if you ask them about "Family" in their dialogue topics.
Oh yeah, I'm off away on holiday in a couple of days. So that was why I rushed to release an alpha version of the mod for people to have a look at. Releasing something, even if its only half-finished is quite satisfying as well!

Beautiful stuff, Iliana! I'm sure this will be a very valuable addition to the mod and provide the source for lots of fun quests.
