To sum it up they lived in the general Morrowind area (and some in Hammerfall).
When the game is over, the King and the Pawn go back into the same box.

yeh well... Velothi Mts. was their ancestral and oldest place... Vvardenfelll was the second but strongest kingdom and Volenfell a splinter group of the Rourken but dud extremely well...
Vvardenfell was however their greatest holding

Well you can make many thing look like dwemerish; just make them mechanical looking.

I'd love to see Dwemer cariable light; that neon tube. Perhaps Magicka empowered gloves that somehow boost your spells/magicka?

Cool. Bronze like material with yellow crystal and neons I guess. ?( Perhaps massive ones like those in Ryzom, if you saw them there.

The Dwemer are "industrial", not "tech". And they obviously did not use the Heart for power, because they made Animunculi BEFORE the Heart's discovery and their machinery was still running after the Heart's banishment.
