More Music (Volsung)
I saw the project's thread on the Elder Scrolls Official forums today, and I thought that it looked like a really neat project, and I wanted to help out if I could, so I wrote this song. As I made it up I imagined two expatriate Bosmer, at night, camped out on the Ashlands, though that is rather beside the point. So, if you think this or something like this would work I definitely could (and would like to) write more songs (and lengthen this since its a bit short).
The two parts are a mandolin and an ocarina. http://files.filefront.com/Bosmer_Songwa...einfo.html |

LordVolsung: Not bad at all! Music isn't my field so I don't really know, but the arrangement could be more elaborate perhaps, and maybe more "base "added? "Base" in the sense of more "weight"... I dunno, I suck at explaining, but it sounds a bit like a midi file to me, with the naked tones. As it is now I don't see why it couldn't be used for a "special encounter"-type situation, but I think the underlying melody is great, so if you want to work on it some more I bet it could be used more generally in the mod.
Ultimately it'll have to be an mp3 file though, but I bet that's an easy fix. And welcome to Silgrad Tower, I hope you'll have a good time here!

I'll start on a somewhat longer and denser version. There is the limitation that the program I used to write it is based on midi, although it can save music as WAV and mp3.
As I write a second version and some other things I'll post them on the thread. Quote:Originally posted by Razorwing |

I uploaded the original "Bosmer Song" as an mp3:
<http://files.filefront.com/Bosmer_Songmp...einfo.html> I rewrote "Bosmer Song," adding quite a bit; it is much longer and now has 8 parts instead of two (Ocarina, Recorder, Oboe, Bassoon, Trumpet, Tuba, and 2 Mandolins). They don't all play in parallel but it is somewhat denser. Also, the tempo is slightly slower. http://files.filefront.com/Volsung_1mp3/...einfo.html |

Problem Uploading
I have been trying to upload a new song onto filefront but I get the following error when I try to upload something:
"No game or software item was selected. Please try again with an item selected. " Does anyone know why this is/how it can be fixed, or what an alternate way to upload files is? |

Nope, can't say I've heard of that problem. But if you'd like you can register on our gallery (http://gallery.silgrad.com/) and upload your music to the audio album there?

RE: Problem Uploading
Thanks, Razorwing.
When I uploaded it I did not see the audio album in the list of albums so I uploaded it to "Unsorted" It is intended to be dark, heroic music. Instruments: Trumpet, Oboe, French Horn, Trombone, Bassoon, Tuba. I am not sure; it may be too intrusive for game music, on the other hand it may not... http://www.silgrad.com/gallery/albums/us...Heroic.mp3 |
