Good choice. There are already games like this, but they focus entirely on military actions. This monotony leads to boredom and deadlock situations. In the end you have no more players, which is the last thing you want when you run a game.

I don't quite remember where I got the idea for this, but we already have a construction set for the game data on the server. It was and still is a lot of extra work, but it's worth it. A new race for the players? Some new research? Some new device to build into your ships?

Not a single thing is hard coded, so we can mod our own game any time.

Yes I was going to say their are a few games like this, but you are correct...in the future most societies are run by some sort of police or military state.. even futuristic movies do the same thing, they do tend to be much more powerful and can gain many things, they are still limited in the number of things which can be done

A Merchant can negociate with anyone for anything even bribe the police, government and/or military with the correct incentive(s)
