Howdy

If you recall, in the movie "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"
or it may have been called "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"

The older one with Gene Wilder staring

Anyway he had a machine for traveling, it used carbonated soda's as its means of energy when it would move load noises were heard and foam shot out of different holes

What if our machine (not nearly as visual) but
when you turned the machine on it churned (a churning sound) and load blasts came from it and steam shoit up from different pipes

Enjoy
Bob

i can animate a bit in max, just the very basic with normal rigging.... I dont think that will help...will it?
Maybe it's intuition

hmm, this is getting very complex. Has the actual machine been modeled?

Concept Ideas are being put together, then the modelling needs to be done. So err were are as far as concepts at the moment. The ideas that we are talking about will help the concept art I am sure

Rickious Get to work Big Grin

I think so, we are talking cogs turning, pipes going un and down, if you can give us 5-10 variations of cogs, pullys and pistons, all dwemmer textures, may be able to do something good with that.

Would it be easier to make steam with 3DSM too? alpha channel style? do it like old 3D trees (2 flat textures in a cross shape from above)

Is it easy enough to get these to start and stop with CS?

Also maybe an actual animation (2D as a tecture behind a grating for more intricate cogs etc?

The animations could be stopped if they are like the idle animations in OB, you can just make it stop and start. But if they are connected to he model them I am not too sure.

steam via 3d max? of course, accomplished? not sure possible? ofcourse. Instead of making a steam from scratch just get default smoke and make it white some how.
