Windows Vista Any Good ?
I was wondering if Windows Vista is any good or worth installing. I just formatted my machine and tried XP Essential, but I really want something different. So my question is: Is it any good?

Not an expert, but me thinks that XP is better, for now at least.
Dont quote me on that, it is just my opinion.

As I said, XP is great but I fancied something different for a change, but I am not too sure how Vista runs or anything. I have not had too much time with it. Anyway I am sure someone here has it and can confirm its FUBAR Big Grin

Don't get Vista without at least 2GB RAM and a dualcore Wink

This is what Garfield said, and he knows
Garfield:
Problem is until recently the video card drivers for Vista were terrible, now they're just poor. In the future the drivers will get better and performance will get better, but don't expect huge increases in performance with Vista over XP until you get a DX10 card and play DX10 games.

I have 1GB ram and a 2.6 Ghz Dual Core, basic needs 512mb ram, but Ultimate needs 1GB. I should be ok specs wise.

Now that is a problem, My drivers, especially my graphics drivers and then having to wait till I can pay for a Direct X 10 compatible card and a good game for it. Well I think I shall stick to XP.

its a pig. especially if you want to install other OSs. We formatted our hard drive to make sure we were rid of that buggy piece of dung.

Hey have any of you whom own vista tried running it on a virtual pc? It might be a way around a few vista related errors, or at least it seems like it could be.
