- raggidman - 11-28-2006 Staenaech is apparently grounded. atm I am waiting for him to respond to my latest TES3 and Lit Dev Thread (he has created his own Kedal Literature Forum to which I do not contribute hrug: how do I edit stuff in his project? Can't. Plus does this mean that each City will have separate Lit Dev Forums ) adjustments from now on? Nah ... He seems to think the interaction works generally (even in situations where I am afraid that we have worked at cross purposes), but at the same time his comments are sparse and mainly from the point of view of his own creations (which is sensible really), so it is hard to know what he will do ... I am just going along in good faith, and trying to accomodate whatever he feels is essential to the feel of his project, hoping that he will like the stuff I put forward. I believe there are 3 timelines = Ancient, Medium and Recent emerging to all blend into the current questing. Ancient What we were saying is that although the Dunmer were then Chimer they were all Velothi, and yet they were like the Ashlanders formed into tribes which had names, like Redoran, and Dres ... These were not the later Great Houses, these were the fleeing Chimer who sought a new land to make their own. They were all Tribal groups, and you might call some proto-Redorans for example - but although as in each 'modern 'House' or 'Tribe' they had a character of their own, they did not think of theirs as being Great Houses as Yet. The Ancient Cerro came from roving bands of Redoran and Dres - Archie escaped from the clutches of the Ancient Imperial Vampire when the Ancient Imperial clashed with a roving band of 'renegade' Dres who did not like the nature of the Dres Vampirism - and were not very happy with the nature of the Imperial's Group of Enthralled Redorans. Then Archie went Questing to defeat the Imperial Vamp and free his pals - which took him to Kedal - see the story - ~#~
The people of Kedal were also proto-Redoran Chimer who became lost in the Velothi Mts and were attacked by Dwemer who claimed the Cavern where the Redoran were sheltering belonged to the Dwemer. The 'Spirit' probably met the lost 'Hero' of Kedal earlier in the Winter before the Dwemer returned to settle in the Caverns. the 'curse' The point about the Kedalin is that they are not Dunmer. Their society was not involved in the Red Mountain thing, and had been cut off from all that by Archie's use of the Object which binds them into their Caverns and prevents them from leaving. The cause of the Kedalin darker than Dunmer skin is very different from the Dunmer - though they have the same root stock. Anyhow, I have been busy too. I am the only guy I know who walks 2-3 miles a day carrying 4/5 stones of gear with a broken leg and no plaster or splint to support it. Lucky only one bone got broken hrug: Later rm - raggidman - 12-02-2006 Let me add that there is a book Feyfolken in Morrowind that has a fine tale of what mischief a daedra in a quill pen can get up to. Note that the Spirit in the Object is not a Daedra however. Fisher Village loc/build FV1 - raggidman - 12-04-2006 quoted post = bob##### dated: 29.10.2006 06:19. second screenie post on page 4 of this thread. Quote:Originally posted by bob196045 Just had an inspiration - if you place the huts around the tiny islet with the tree and plants in your last screenie (quoted) rather than around the 'little hills' (and remove the 'hills') that would be fine - the idea was to have the fishermen build on a location that could be completely missed by the casual traveller, and that would not be claimed by any clan or other community because it is barely above water and therefore being of interest to no other group would give them free and clear title = can be used as a base for their fishing. After all they are refugees and strangers who have no local connections or knowledge. From now on I will title and number all my posts (starting now) in this thread as it is getting complicated! - bob196045 - 12-04-2006 AHHHHHHHH to be inspirered Sounds like a good Idea I like it and will make the necessary adjustments (as a draft of course) and we can looky at how it fits Do we need to develope a secret code book so we know which post to look for ? Bob - raggidman - 12-05-2006  rkasd'gag 346ddb; sdfs# - bob196045 - 12-17-2006 Quote:Originally posted by raggidman Not quite sure what that means ************************* Hey can we use this ? Here's my idea for using this in a quest for the Hero: This island is north of Blacklight and west of Solsthiem Let say this is inhabited by refugees from you know where and they found this island and settled, they brought with them many things fromtheir fertile land and incorporated them into their new home Our Cerro send the hero here to gather information and items needed to help them in their quest for a cure This is of course by no means complete Bob - raggidman - 12-17-2006 'pogolies boss, thought you understood code - was your idea ... That is one fascinating-looking island Looks oriental - location and style suggests either Dres or Akaviri What Island???? Bethsoft pulled a load of cr*p inventing an Island for Bloodmoon - does that mean we should do the same? If you were adding a tiny and solitary something way out North of Solstheim in the uncharted ocean that might be different... But the idea about the Indoril refugees - a foreshadowing really in movie-speak ... if you want to move them into locations accross Vvardenfell spreading from the South East then that might be interesting providing the timeing was right = it has to start at least: - 1) after the Main Quest, plus - 2) the Nev should already have built his/her Stronghold, plus - 3) at least one whole year game time should have passed in total from the date the player started the game. That would enable lots of interactions that would add weight to the idea that the University is a major and essential project. You would have to create a 'tent city' tileset so that modders could create very temporary habitations that KKA could manipulate in TES4 Vvardenfell where he already has plans. This would be very topical. - bob196045 - 12-17-2006 No pologies necessary My explanation of "from you know where" was confusing I guess. It's not for the Cerro or the Indoril refugees, they are refugees from Akavir I agree that we shouldn't "invent" an Island, but I am sure thier are small chunks of land popped up out of the sea all over the place that most don't know about. And thats basically what this is a small piece of land popped up out of the sea far from anything else. These refugees came across it in their travels and decided it was sutiable to sustain them and began to build many moons ago. We don't need to have it in our quest, just wondered if we could use it, in some of the many sub-quests of our story. Possibly the knowledge of the island was found by one of the Elder Cerro, and it was asked of the Hero to visit them and get information and possibly a few things to help them. Bob - raggidman - 12-17-2006 k, if it is one of those outcrops that do occur then it will have to be another 'fishing location' - takes time for land to become arrable - a looong time... and they will have to trade - maybe the pirates would strike up a deal to use it as a haven? And that would explain the way they have remained isolated from Tamriellian knowledge generally. Another might be is that Vaniken Ri becomes their front man - they might have known about his family beforehand... Either way I suspect that the odd captain might sight such an island, or 'lights in the night where none are though to be possible... and someone might want to investigate = the Cerro or Naimer Indoril? This could provide the link to Akavir for the Cerro to gain info and the Nerev to eventually mount the 'final' expedition to find the ingredients for the cure. - bob196045 - 12-18-2006 some more screenie as i get it together Well we can figure out what were gonna do with it if anything later I suppose, its just a thought and for whatever reason I just started putting it together, and should be doing other things Bob |
