- raggidman - 12-19-2006 Some of the best stuff 'just gets put together' - so we will certainly find this useful. - bob196045 - 12-19-2006 Sometimes it is lets just hope when I'm all done I decide to like it and keep it Typically if I make something and no matter how nice someone else says it is, I get to fussing about it and decide its not good enough and then delete it. - raggidman - 12-19-2006 raggidman turns toward the secret prying tool box, and inspects the sharpness of the bamboo shoots ... thinking it will be good to have an excuse to use these again ... :] - bob196045 - 12-20-2006 Its always good to keep your bamboo shoots sharp, unless of course your going to stir fry them, then they must be mushy Is this considered off topic ? - raggidman - 12-20-2006 Nope - it's essential encouragement to cure bob #### of a very bad habit of deleting essential work that others will rely on. - bob196045 - 12-20-2006 Ok I admit it I am a deletion addict  - raggidman - 12-21-2006 There is only one cure, oops ... [snip] ... sorry bob, I just deleted it. hrug: and merry christmas an stuff too. - bob196045 - 12-22-2006 :lmao: thats funny  I'll try real hard not to delete it I promise, its lookin real good so far, at least the outside. Here's another screenie, I need to add some more foliage and I need to find a goods model of a fish for the pond (preferably something like a carp) also the interiors I have arn't all that great but I'm gonna try and work with them. And a very Merry Christmas and stuff to you also. - raggidman - 12-22-2006 Strongly recommend you try the Scottish isolated Isle, NO trees, sparse grass look = more believable if you are doing such a large recent geological upthrust. Solstheim was a bit much already given its size and location - adding another has to be very tricky immersion-wise. Trees take a loong time to grow, and so the likelihood of th eIsland Staying unknown is reduced if you use them. beter to use rocks, lichen and seaweed for De(ecute)cor. Wait a minute, how did they build all those buildings? They must have cannibalised a ship at the start, and then traded - so they had more than one ship. But I suggest just the one building and small, crude cottages only. They might have rich contents in some, use tapestries etc as they are refugees who will have salvaged whatever valuables they could when they fled, but they would not have been transporting timber, and suchlike. Again - they would have to feed themselves by fishing and passing trade - the most likely is that a pirate ship found them, and they did a deal with the pirates - offering a safe port for the pirates to come ashore. If you like that, then try to make the island Atol-shaped (horseshoe) so that there is a protected baylet and the habitations on the inner side. They might have vegetable seeds, so they might have very limited agriculture. The real feel will come from making the place and existance there look very precarious. - bob196045 - 12-22-2006 Now I'm gonna delete it, I mean it...my finger is next to the button right now..... don't make me do it !!! :lmao: I hear ya, so I will not delete it...but what I will do is create another one, smaller.. more rock action, less foliage action, a junked ship, in pieces even. a smaller single home, but with reminders of their home culture. some tapestry's, a few odd and end pieces of furniture, I can construct the building from planks, give it some angular overhangs and a pitched roof, that will give it the same feel as we have now, a small garden, some freshly planted bushes.... I think this is good Bob |
