It could be the secret home of the Frost Atronachs. I know! I'll make that Oblivion world right now!

That idea could defintly work, prehapd it is the realm of the Frost Atronach Lord  But not the centre of Atmora, I've got something much better in store for that  This could be instead used in a quest for a shrine :goodjob:

Atmora is like forzen over... and even when Nords lived there, there were almost no herbivorous animals, mostly a land of predators... I think the only reason to go there woul dbe to visit frozen ruins, hunt big beasts and look for loot

I mean quests might be based in Skyrim... like someone says he was reciting an old Nordic chant and realized that it pointed to say a legendary sword found in Atmora... and so there's a quest... or someone says when they sailed north (and survived the cold and the Dreugh) and then they were attacked by a mysterious beast...

but hey...

aren't you making Yokuda? ?(

Don't just copy your old post, because I answered most of those questions. This isn't part of Skyrim, and the water is to cold for Dreugh that north, hence there wasn't any in the waters around Solstheim in Bloodmoon.

And I am going to be making Yokuda still, but like I said I already answered that question.

I posted this twice? shit, sorry man, I tried to post and told me I wasn't allowed to post within 60 sec and then afterward I ppost again, sorry for your inconvenience geez

and Dreugh do live in Northern waters apparently...
"Fairly recently, in northern Skyrim, I had a bit of bad luck. I was with a group of fishermen, observing their technique of capturing a very rare, very delicious fish called Merringar. The fish is found only far from shore, so it was a week's voyage out beyond civilization. Well, we found our school of Merringar, but as the fishermen began spearing them, the blood in the water attracted a family of Dreugh, who capsized the boat and everyone on it."
The Red Kitchen Reader

I mean there are lobsters and crabs and pletny of octopuses and squids that can live in arctic waters... I think Dreugh could too... with some adaptations of course Confusedhrug: I just wanted to show you since I know you didn't believe me and I know I have studied Dreugh for a long time so I remembered it.
Plus a few Skyrim-mod-team people even told me there were Dreugh off the coast of Skyrim when I was discussing Dreugh with bob(numbers) so apparently I'm not the only one...

so yeah, I'll go look at your answers to my questions... and I can see you guys doin' a good job concepting quests already, c ya, will be gone for vacation

Well, I'm done with the exterior of Atmora Oblivion. All I need is to get the new frosty Oblivion Architecture there. I replaced all of the rocks I could with retextured Jerall mountain equivalents, but I want to replace the stonyness of them with ice. I'm hesitant to make them transparant, because then you could see the other rocks inside them and that would look bad.

There is a new snowy weather I added which gives everything a blu-ish tinge. But for some reason, I can't see either snow or rain in my game, which I'm sure is a product of natural environments. Anyhoo, when I'm done with it, I want it to chill people to the bone just by looking at it. This will be an extremely frozen plane, and you'll be lucky to walk through without at some point getting 100% frost damage, so bring plenty of frost shield with you.

I had a plan for a script to give you 50% frost damage the whole time unless you find a certain artifact which will give you high frost resistance, maybe like some torch or something with an eternal flame.

There will be a Frost Atronach Lord. I had an idea for him to be a normal Frost Atronach scaled up to 2x normal size, but have an effect that simulates a small winter around him. The mesh will be tweaked as well to replace the black-ish vertice shading with a deep blue. He will be the very embodiment of winter itself. And, if you try to fight him yourself without the Artifact so for some reason you survived all of that freezing cold with other effects, you will succumb to white blindness as your eyes freeze over, so you won't know what happened. Morrowind had a blind spell, but Oblivion doesn't.

The Sigil stone will have uber frost powers. It will give you the coldest weapons or armors in Tamriel (not necessarily Atmora Cool)

What if you need to exit back out through the Oblivion gate, and as you go to the bottom of the tower a new door enables to a new worldspace with melting landscape and fire begins to engulf the frozen landscape, and how about Fire Atronachs begin slaughtering the Frost Atronachs as they take over the plane... ... ...

And then later you get to go back and steal the FIRE SIGIL STONE, and then it gets foggy and electricity runs through everything as the Storm Atronachs take over... ... ... AND YOU GET TO GO BACK AGAIN! You can exploit the rivalries between all 3 Atronachs to gain 3 sigil stones for each element. (You can just ignore this paragraph)

I want to get some other creatures in here besides Frost Atronachs though. Blue Fire Atronachs? Or how about frozen undead adventurers who also thought they could make it through but are now cursed?

Frost Matriarchs should be added, which are in lore I might add.

I think it would be cool to get a shader effect for the Oblivion architecture, so it still looks the same and has the smae texture, but is coved in ice, alternativly we could retex each piece of architecture so it is see-through ice, scale it up slightly and position it over each piece of achitecture that matches them.

It would be really nice ot see some screenies.

idea 1: little lights, bit like willow wisps, but not that deadly. The move around through your snow troubled view. Usually they lead traveller to a certain dead, but sometimes to great treasure. So the player can decide to follow them...
idea 2: nice it's a pole, your compas shouldn't work Big Grin

- Kodama - 12-23-2006

TOYB, if you want an Akaviri outpost on Atmora, the Jo'Mon race would be a good choice, Jo'Mon are Tang Mo (the monkey race) they have a thick gray/white fur that keeps them warm in cold climates and they live in small caves (perfect to keep warm).
The Tang Mo empire has a good navy, so it would be easy for them to find their way to Atmora and set up an outpost to hunt whales and horkers.
They could get whale/horker fat for lamp oil, whales could also have an ingredient called ambergriss, in the real world it's used for healing brews and perfume, so for Oblivion it could be used for a potion that restores health and increases personality or something like that.
Ivory is also a very good reason for an outpost, i hope this is helpfull Smile

Thnx, do you have the race already made? and do you have any architecture made already?

- Kodama - 12-24-2006

Unfortunately we do not have the race or architecture yet, we still need to change the Tang Mo race.
I guess a retexture of the Tang Mo race could work, but i would like the model to look a little bit different too.
But at least it would be lore friendly, we could say that they just set up a hunters outpost a year ago.

I think making the tang mo look "fat" with fur and retex them to look white-ish would work quite well.

- Kodama - 12-24-2006

Yeah i think so too TOYB, but it would be nice to have a slightly shorter and thicker tail aswell.
Corthian is working on a longer Tsaesci tail right now, i could just ask him to fix the Jo'Mon Tang Mo tail afer he's done with the Tsaesci tail.

I don't think that architecture will be much of a problem, they live in caves on cliffs and any Tang Mo architecture would not be very suitable for Atmora's climate anyway.
So feel free to make their outpost look like whatever you want, it won't break any Akaviri lore if you do that.

It would make sense if the outpost has a small simple lighthouse (made of imported wood maybe?) maybe a boathouse to protect the ships.
What are your ideas on the outpost?
