so how are you doing on the part where it goes back to the beginning?

Yes, good seamless, ever-ending loops is pretty hard to compose.
I never tried to make a "professional" soundtrack, but i had the programs Buzz & another program, that i don't remeber the name of.
Keep up the good work, Anaglyph. :goodjob:

Thanks 1337Elite.
I wasn't actually planning to make the tracks seamless loops, to be honest. I'll just leave a few seconds after the endings to let the reverb tails finish.

Well, that works too actually.
It is pretty much better to do around 10 tracks and make them cross-fade or randomize between the tracks.
Can you do any animal sounds or something? I thought it would be cool to have an ambient track playing while the music was playing, but a bit less noisy.
I say it once again.
Good music, and keep it that way!

Guess it all depends on how Oblivion handles the music.
As for an ambient track, I don't have any sound effects libraries, so let's hope the game has a bit more ambience this time!

Absolutely amazing stuff, Anaglyph! I am humbled by the quality of your work. I guess it sure shows how old and cheap the program I use is. hehe Dang it, that Vienna stuff is ex-ex-expensive. You sure put it to good use, though. Keep it up!
And if Oblivion uses music the same way Morrowind does, you shouldn't need to worry about making the music loop.

Thanks efin.
I haven't used the Vienna library yet though. Currently using Edirol's orchestral plugin till the pieces are finalised (still pretty expensive though). Then I'll convert to the Vienna sounds. With the Vienna library you have to set up a lot of sounds for different articulations, plus I just don't have enough RAM to play more than a few instruments at a time, so I convert each instrument to a wav and... well, you get the picture; it's just much quicker doing the composing with a nice simple software plugin and leaving the Gigastudio stuff till last. heh

Yeah, seems fairly safe to assume that. Hopefully, with Oblivion's context-sensitive music we should also have greater control over what gets played when.

So what does everyone think about the recently-released Oblivion main title theme? I don't like the beginning all that much, but it picks up at around 1:00. It's still a far cry from the beauty and wonder of Morrowind's main title theme.
Actually I think Anaglyph's main title theme for Silgrad Tower: Oblivion is better than what Soule did for Oblivion, so personally I'm going to overwrite Bethesda's mp3 with that one when the time comes
